[ image: a drawing of warren beek, a large fetal bird with greasy, slicked down hair and a large bruised eyelids surrounding tiny red eyes. he is wearing a large green double breasted coat and shorts with a gold trim and a golden ascot. he also has a golden pocket watch hanging from a house-shaped pin on his chest. there is a large drawing of him with his head tilted down, eye narrowed with a vague glee as he says, 'i assume you will be there, yes? don't be late.'. there is a smaller drawing next to him, with a slightly shorter coat to show his little shorts, where he simply says, 'hi.' the outfit is called the 'family dinner coat'.]
@fortunomancy : Can I request a picture of Warren Beek in a nice new suit
i always forget people actually like mr warren beek! here's a fancy little green suit.
Gijinkaverse question, do pokemon exist is the world as regular pets? Like can someone just own a houndoom that functions as a regular dog or are there just dogs and cats and such. And if the Pokémon do exist, do they still have the same properties as in-game Pokémon, like is a ponyta still on fire or does it just have a fire-looking mane?
They do! I think the only current example I have is that Lena has a pet Espurr. I don’t know enough about animal breeding or domestication to theorize much on adapting that so I won’t touch it FNSHF The most I’ll say is that, since they wouldn’t have as advanced intelligence as canon, it would be extremely unwise to attempt to keep certain species because of their abilities/biology/typical temperaments—especially straight out of the wild. And for your example: Ponyta’s mane, canonically, will not burn you if you earn its trust first, but would still be a fire-type pokemon, so keeping them means preparing for that hazard!
Numberrrr 7?
oh hell Yes
MOREKE
rival champion-ass team. he doesn’t have a poison theme as a character, but he’s DEFINITELY the kind of guy to utilize it in pokemon battles.
1? As an aside, I always adore they way you color your pieces
1. what is your favorite color to work with?
It really really depends! I used to be incredibly dedicated to pinks and purples but ive recently done my best to work with as many different colors as possible just to get out of my comfort zone... Im very biased towards orange and blues at the moment because of the quick and comforting contrast you can cook up real quick!
Thank you very much for asking as im really happy u enjoy my work ❤️
Non-gijinkaverse question, do you want to see our new puppy
YES YES YES YES YES
PUBBY!!!!
Also making this its own post, since the original ask was long and this is equally lengthy. From @fortunomancy
Do the children of legendaries work in the same way as it does in the games, where the pokemon type is passed down maternally, or is it more of a genetic toss-up?
Using this opportunity to also share my headcanon about how egg groups work! cw pregnancy talk i guess ?? copy/pasting this first part from my TH lore page <:3c
Egg groups do technically exist. It's easiest for two species of the same group to have children together; those who don't share a group may produce a kid from either one but may have difficulty getting pregnant. Of course there's methods to increase chances, contraceptives, etc.
But there's no hard rule on parentage like there is in-game, where a child only inherits a mother's species. It's most common for a child to inherit either parent's species directly, but mutations can occur where a child is born as a different species in one of their egg groups (if they share one) or something 'combining their features' (if they don't).
Examples: Stunfisk with Galarian genes + Milotic = Totodile (all Water 1); Ampharos (Monster/Field) + Hydreigon (Dragon) = Helioptile (Monster/Dragon); Meowstic (Field) + Breloom (Fairy/Grass) = Eevee (Field) with natural Leafeon leaning.
All that is to say regarding legendaries, no- they can be any number of things! They've got an EXTREMELY high rate of mutations compared to the rest of the population, meaning they could inherit a species from one of their parents, but it's just as likely that they could be a completely different legendary or another pokemon.
Moreke is a Darkrai, his wife Melody is a Cresselia, they had a Darkrai child first and then their younger twins are a Zekrom and Reshiram. (We considered making them something else to share types with momo and melody, but were too attached lmao)
Averett is a Regigigas, his wife Mira is a Dragonair, and when they have children (rather than Averett's previous children just having been "conjured" from his genetic material) they produce Regidrago.
If another legendary/non-legend pair were to have children, like, say, Sariel and Maddox (god forbid), they Could have a non-galarian Articuno, or a Snorunt, or literally anything out of the pool of Ice types.
Re: Phoenix and Mia never getting to know each other, it’s even more sad to think that they were right on the brink of that trust when Mia died. Mia was going to introduce Maya *that night* and obviously when she showed up in her medium attire Phoenix would ask questions. She was also passing over the Redd White files and so was possibly going to fill nick in there
GOD THIS IS SUCH A GOOD POINT YOU ARE KILLING ME
the timing of mia introducing phoenix and maya to each other right after phoenix’s first successful case is NO coincidence and it makes so much sense when you see what phoenix was like when he and mia first met, down the line in TNT. fucking babe in the woods right there. i can’t imagine mia would have been willing to let him in on the grittier details of her personal life until their relationship was one where they were on even footing, and he wasn’t someone who needed her protection
and of course that would have been once phoenix won his first case a defense attorney! when they were Partners in the firm instead of mentor/assistant. they were finally equals, for the first time ever. augh!!!! it hurts!!! they were family who never really got the chance to be more than coworkers and im SO SAD ABOUT IT.
