jiji gojo dynamics let me have my cake and eat it!!!

when eye contact makes your throat close up throwing money at the problem is usually the way forward… except gojo’s oblivious to the fact it makes jiji feel like some weird mix of trophy wife and charity case. he only takes advantage of it out of spite, equally as oblivious to the feelings behind all of it. to jiji, whenever gojo gives him that all-teeth smile he can still mostly see the weird rich clan kid he was paid pennies to babysit one summer at age nine, who then decided he wanted to stick to him forever. gojo’s just as grown as he is now, only two years between them, but he never sees it because he reverts to acting childlike when they’re together in hopes of triggering any of the easy affection he used to be given. in a way it’s a cycle—jiji won’t recognise him as an equal or someone viable for any sort of intimate connection because he doesn’t seem old enough, but gojo doesn’t want to act his age because he feels less connected to him that way. if that makes sense ……

in a way toji is a milestone for progression …. he comes around and acts older than he is, and gojo sees the way jiji treats him like an equal, rather than a stray puppy that got attached after being fed a few times and that he now feels bad for, and something clicks. throwing money doesn’t stop (if anything it gets worse) but he tries to stop acting too childish, and genuinely wants to start banging his head against the wall when he sees RESULTS!!! of course …. it seems so obvious …. acting like the child the object of your [%#€¥*] used to babysit a good ten years after the fact WON’T get him to want you back 😵😵😵 !!!! rest assured he does rush headfirst into this young (but not too young) and rebellious era and pays the price for it in the form of humiliating himself more times than he can fit on both hands. it makes jiji laugh though …. and therefore is ruled a win in his book!!!

the overgenerous spending is harder to stop because he justifies it as a love language—and it is—but is oblivious to where the line between that and doing too much is drawn. as well as the fact he’s jumped straight over it. ‘lucky me’ is always spoken in that fake-bright tone, an off-handed comment before jiji pushes it off to one side with a fingertip and promptly forgets about it. he will eventually reach a breaking point at the end of Act 2 (enter 19th bday car stage left and baseball bat thrown in from the wings) but it’s just simmering for the majority of 1&2. 3 is where some more real progression is made :p money is a hard thing to get a handle on!!! i don’t fully blame him. im making him do it after all ….. ijbol …. sorry king
