Next Friday we are playing a benefit show in Richmond with some great bands for some great human rights causes. The show will benefit Forward Together (a multi-racial organization that works with community leaders and organizations to transform culture and policy to catalyze social change) and Sister Song (to strengthen and amplify the collective voices of indigenous women and women of color to achieve reproductive justice by eradicating reproductive oppression and securing human rights.)
Also, 100% of our merch and album sales through Friday 2/17 will be donated to these organizations. Let’s stand together in support for these just causes and in resistance to Trump’s human rights violations.
Special thanks to @nancykells of Spartan Jet-Plex for putting this all together.

On January 21st, 2016 Women Marched on Washington. President Donald Trump did not address the millions of women outside his doorstep, instead he just hid inside. He later sent his press secretary Sean Spicer to speak on his behalf. See the full transcript here. Instead of addressing the president’s thoughts on the millions of women around the globe marching, he couldn’t get over his own ego and lied to the people in the first address to the American people. They claimed continuously that reporters are lying about the crowd size at his inauguration. Which can be seen as false here, here, and here.
Instead of responding to the people, as he promised to do in his Inaugural Acceptance Speech, he pouted over number of supporters in the popularity contest he believes America is. We’re not a game, we’re not a “contest.” This isn’t Miss Universe.
He responded the next morning with the following tweet:
THIS IS REAL. THIS IS HAPPENING. THIS IS THE CHAIN OF EVENTS.
The Public Theater’s We Are One Public benefit has been rescheduled to October 20 and has been renamed Forward Together: A Virtual Event to Support The Public. Oscar Isaac will be making an appearance. Additional information in source link below:
