Really interesting and eclectic blend that is better with food. 30% Petit Verdot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20%Merlot, 20% Malbec, 3% Syrah, 2% Petite Sirah. Nose of predominantly red fruit and wood. On the palate, lush red fruit on the front end, that quickly moves to oak, acid, and some dusty tannins on a finish that lingers. I get a lot of masculine cabernet characteristics, but the other parts of the blend lend this additional complexity and somehow all work together for me even if I wouldn’t call it completely harmonious and integrated. Still plenty of structure to age, but not sure if this will get more complex or just flabby. Drink now-2020 I would say.
