For thousands of years, Kettle Falls was a vital salmon fishing ground for the Sinixt, but early 20th-century dam construction blocked salmon migration.
Wrongfully declared extinct in Canada in 1956, the Sinixt fought for recognition and were officially acknowledged as Aboriginal Peoples of Canada in 2021.
In 2023, the U.S. government signed a $200 million agreement with a coalition of tribes, including the Sinixt, to fund an Indigenous-led salmon reintroduction program into the Columbia River system above dams in Washington.
Sinixt leaders say this project is an important effort to help right a historical wrong in the legacy that led to their “extinction” status, while many hope to one day join salmon efforts on their traditional territory in Canada.

She keeps her wild past to her chest. Having been born into a pirate crew captained by her parents. M got to see much of the galaxy, and she fell in love with every planet she saw. Motivated by a love for nature, she began to organize borderline guerrilla opposition to operations which threatened sensitive biomes. After being arrested multiple times over her long Foshian lifetime, she eventually settled in to a role as a professor and researcher hoping to do more good for planets and their native species.
Working with others in her older age, M can be quite prickly and bossy, to put it lightly. She maintains a fussy serious attitude in an attempt to guard her fragile ego. This exterior, however, is easily cracked at times by a smartly timed joke (something Fenn I figured out very quickly). She does care, somewhere she can’t even find it, but shoves her work toward the forefront. Burying any sentiment that lurks beneath her jaded feathered exterior.

Hi there. I wanted to write this little cute drabble for my friend. Still trying to get back in the swing of things soooooo I hope this makes up for that lost time for you guys. So I hope you like.

After Jellyfish's first vacation, he was now taking another one but this time, Mouse was joining him. When fall was coming into NYC, he decided to spend some time with her. How did it go and what might happen? Read to find out.

Fall has finally come to NYC, seeing the leaves changing to the weather changing. Every one of the fractions were happily savoring this moment to enjoy this season with friends or loved ones. Right now, it's almost a good time to take a vacation or break.
That's what the hackers were doing. In the living room, Fosh Virian was drinking some hot pumpkin spice drinks while they were both on vacation. It was Fosh's turn to get Mouse to take one given she was over working herself from side missions, requests, and her team mission. Now, she was told to take a two week faction with Fosh who was taking one.
He was looking to see Mouse relax but she was feeling Nebula was nuzzling into her cheek. He seriously was precious for a little jellyfish even with lily, the small mouse with a blue bow on her ear and tail happily nuzzling Fosh's cheek.
Even when she felt the little jellyfish wrapping it's tendrils around her fingers not shocking her. He really liked being around her like Lily squeaking on Fosh's shoulder.
"So cute..you really are so cute." she smiled.
"It seems you are better after your nap, Serena but..I'm shocked you worked yourself to the bone passing out." He was worried when hearing that yet she only sighed to look at him.
"Yeah sorry about that Fosh. I guess I'm used to this sort of work for a long time. Others always told me I should rest and not over work myself. Yet I still do that." she laughed rubbing the back of her head.
"Even so, you should be careful." Fosh didn't like when Mouse was over working herself. It's like how she gets on him for over doing it. Even when the boomer Sukuna was scaring him to death. Though, she didn't mind the rest even when it's starting to hit fall season now. Looking to Nebula, the little jellyfish was resting in the palms of her hands that she smiled.
"So precious..Nebula is adorable." she smiled yet even Lily was squeaking to go and hop near Nebula when the bigger jellyfish shows up now happily relaxing with the two.
".....Y..Yeah, you really must like him huh?" He saw her smiling yet it was gentle seeing Nebula floating around her even seeing his own happily close to her that Lily the mouse squeaks that the other helps her on one tendril to sit and relax. All three happy together.
"I do..I love Jellyfishes. Their always so pretty even if they are dangerous to some people. They are really mystical creatures you know?" she said to Fosh yet he blinks not knowing that. Jellyfishes were her favorite creatures? Did this mean she always finds his own pretty cool?
It must be true given she was smiling admiring the three shinigami together. Yet, Fosh was nervous around his crush but he never confessed his feelings. Hanging out was just always a thing to him but..maybe..just maybe. Feeling even more shy, he wanted to tell her how he felt but he was always nervous that he was looking down.
"Anyway Fosh..." she was speaking still petting his jellyfish. "I'm really am enjoying the vacation though. True, I been over working that the girls back home tend to make me take on. I just sneak back into working from their orders. Guess I do the same thing you do huh?" she chuckled to look at him but blinks seeing he didn't look at her.
"...Fosh?..You okay?"
"Huh?!" he snaps out of it to look at her as she blinks confused.
"You good?"
"..I...I...y..yeah! Yeah, I'm good. Sorry about that, I was just lost in thought about something." he laughed nervously yet Mouse blinks to tilt her head to smile.
"No worries it's good. Though...what is wrong? What's got you so distracted?" she asked curious. "Wait, is it because of that damn boomer again?" she asked speaking about Sukuna. He sweatdrops remembering him.
Oh god. That was a crazy ride back in the summer. He did freak out or pass out after the encounter but thanks to his friends and her he was alright. After the first two week vacation he was on.
Though, after that, they just hang out more and more. Fosh knew Mouse was unlike any other person he knew. Even the other hackers that join their website knew that. Heck, even Maxine and Cheri knew! It was always good to have friends but her?
She was different.
"Ohhhh no no, it's not him. I mean, that was something else but it's not from him." he said to see her relax then frown. She still thinks Sukuna was a freaking boomer like jerk but....if it's not about him....
"I see. Though, did you wanna talk about it? If not, I won't force you or anything Fosh. We can always relax and chill during my vacation....though, I do miss doing somethings at times." she said relaxing beside him.
"Huh? You still tend to work even if others-"
"Yep. I'm used to it. Working is something I'm known for given it's new things to make. So believe me, I get what you do. I do the same.." she smiled yet he understood to look down.
"I get it....but..again, it's nothing bad." he looks to their frozen drinks they got ordered for delivery to the hideout spot but she was looking at him curious. "It's just......after all the times we hang out, I just...feel like I'm not..exciting enough?"
"Huh???? What do you mean?" she asked concerned.
"I mean I know I work myself over and over and do what I know. I just..never expected to hang out with someone like you Mouse. I figure their were other hackers in NYC but..I was not expecting so many. Including you..I..I was not expecting t..to...." He looks down again with Mouse looking at him.
"To meet someone as cool as you."
"........" Wait, he thought she was cool? This made Mouse's cheek flush pink that she looks to him.
"Y...You really think I'm cool? But I'm not that cool!" she said in a shy tone waving her hands at him.
"Huh?!?! But you are! It's really amazing your able to shapeshift into anything or anyone, you can use electricity, travel through cyberspace with no problem, you can hack and make anything and it's just...really really cool! So yeah, you are!" he said loud for her to her that he looks to her. Right away, he saw her face now red from the comments that she covers her face looking away.
"!?!"
"Noooooooooo I'm not that c..c..cool! Your way cooler t..than me, Fosh!" she said even in the shy tone. Even he didn't expect that response from her. "Huh?"
"I mean, I admit I do some good work and all but...it's only because I admire the work of others..including yours. Your hacking skills are really good even from all I've seen. Honestly, it makes me wonder why someone amazing as you wished to hang out with me for this long. Aren't you-"
"But I like hanging out with you!" he said as she blinks. "I..I mean..it's enjoyable to hang with you. At least you s...see to like me and..think I'm cool." she mutters.
"Huh? But you were always cool to me Fosh. I didn't know you thought that way. You are and always was." she said looking to him. "Besides, it's always fun to hang when we can do fun things, try to code new things, challenging one another to get better...I enjoy every moment we do hand out together silly." she smiled that he even looks to her still silent. Even from that and the disturbing things they went through, they were dealing with it together.

"I guess, with everything many will think that. I do mean it though, I enjoy every moment we are hanging out and spending time with one another. Besides....." she mutters to scratch her cheek looking to the side. "I love being able to hang with the coolest person in the world." she laughed to shut her eyes.
So she did mean that! She enjoyed spending time with him and even if he was always nervous around her, she didn't mind it. Mouse......or to say Serena was really something else. It made his heart aflutter because of it.
"I mean yeah..it sounds all weird yet..I do really enjoy the days we hang out and spend with one another Fosh. You...you really are amazing to me." she said smiling to look at their drinks. However, he only blushed harder that it steams up his glasses. She really did like him! She was....wait, was she.....He didn't know but it leaves him curious.
"I....I...."
"..Though....I know it might be sudden but.." she looks down but a smile shows on her lips. "I really savor the moments...and even over time....I..I think I developed a crush on you." she said that he was blushing even harder that steam was seen from him.
She liked him!? She really did like him!?
"............"
"I was never expecting to fall for someone but...for the longest we been hanging out and all as allies to friends..I can tell something between us happened. I know we never...said this or thought of that but...I really do like you Fosh......I really do." she smiled happily that she hopes he understood but she looks to him seeing him speechless.
"..........."
She wonders if she said too much? Given his face was red now to look worried. "R..right sorry about that Fosh. I guess I over did it." she mutters scratching her cheek. "But...I understand If I said too much I'm sory-"
Suddenly her words stop feeling something on her cheek. A warm kiss!? She blinks twice to see that Fosh kissed her cheek!? He...this made her feel him sit back blushing himself but she slowly looks to him touching her cheek.
"Y..Y..Yo..."
"..I.....I like you! I really really like you too! I've always liked you!" he said quickly that she looks to him. "I...I always liked you! E..even after the work we did together, hanging out, even giving gifts during holidays and such I....I really cherish those moments with you! A..a..and....and I'm.." He was trying to say it but Mouse remains speechless hearing his words.
"I..I know I never said this but...but I really do. I admire your work..I admire everything about you! I just...I just don't want that or anything else to ruin that for us! E..even after the harsh events we all went through. " He remembers what they went through but he still looks determined to prove his point.
"I still...I still wish for these special moments to never stop! I really hope you will accept my feelings for you Serena Lynn Thomson!"
Silence was heard in the living room yet Serena said nothing hearing this. Fosh looks down gripping his pants tightly, unsure how she felt after telling her. He wanted to but was nervous. However, he didn't hear anything from Serena. Was it too soon? Too early? Fear swells up in his chest, thinking he might have made himself look like a crazy person that he lets out a upsetting sigh.
"I..I'm sorry. I just..I wanted to tell you how I Felt...but..if you don't feel the same way..I under.....stand?" as he speaks he saw her hand rest on top of his hand. He blinks to see this, about to turn to look at her but his lips were caught against hers!
His eyes widen from the kiss as she kissed him! Mouse kissed him! Her lips were really soft and gentle even if his face was burning dark from blushing from it as the kiss is held for a moment till she pulls back breaking it.
Even if Fosh's eyes were still wide looking shocked at Serena's own flushed look to gently smile.
"...I..Serena-"
"....I like you too Fosh. I was not expecting you to say that about me but...." Shutting her eyes she was smiling happily. "I like like you too...." keeping her hand on his, she felt it relax that she now held his hand in hers while the two were blushing.
"Though, I'm happy to know and I will accept your feelings...I hope you also accept mine." she said that he only blushed to slowly nod.
"S...sure..of course." he mutters before the two smiled holding hands that the mouse and jellyfish were happy to hear this that they happily hug them as Mouse and Jellyfish laugh from being hugged by the jellyfish and lily.
"Easy guys!" she said smiling from the nuzzles yet Fosh was smiling feeling Lily nuzzle his cheek. Seems it worked out in the end and it was just as wonderful.

"Wait! You confessed and she said she liked you too!" Fosh jumps hearing most of his friends shocked tone yet he rubs the back of his neck blushing.
"Y..Yeah..I told her how I felt a..and..it seems we are together. She even had the same feelings for me too! I didn't even know it." Fosh was happy yet ink smiled.
"I'm so happy for you Fosh! I knew you two would get together! I knew it!" she laughed even seeing Hellmare nod.
"Indeed. Congrats Fosh. I know you and Mouse will be a cute couple together." Hellmare was happy for him and her yet he smiled happy too.
"Yeah, good work confessing. I knew you were something dude!" Rust laughed patting his friend's back while smiling yet Fosh was happy too. Even seeing Lily sitting on his shoulder proud of him.
"True. We told you it was going to be fine. Even finding out she felt the same..." Shdwkyz admits he was happy for him then looks to Rust. "And you and Navarro make any bets this time?"
"Ehhhh no?" Rust said sweatdropping but Sai feels like they did.
"Did you?" he frowns.
"........" Right away, Rust laughed to rub the back of his head. "Oh look at the time I gotta..check on something!" he quickly runs with Shdwkyz following him.
"RUST!!! GET BACK HERE! WHO DID YOU MAKE A BET WITH THIS TIME!"
"I DIDN'T MAKE A BET! I JUST MADE ONE WITH NAVARRO TO SEE IF FOSH WOULD ADMIT HIS FEELINGS FOR-OH SHIT!"
"I KNEW IT! GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE!!"
"NOOOOOOOO!!"
The DBT blinks seeing this but looks to Fosh as he saw the others watching this. Even Navarro was trying not to laugh since he didn't get in trouble but he was not going to do anything. Fosh sighed but he rubs the back of his head a bit nervous.
"Though, I will have to be sure I do my best in keeping her happy! I don't wanna mess this up or-"
"Calm yourself Fosh, I think you'll be fine. If Mouse loves you for you, this will be just fine." Jaron smiled to him knowing the DBT agreed.
"You think so?"
"I know so. It's how I Felt when I admitted my feelings to Melinda. She's everything to me so..I know Mouse is everything to you too. Given what you guys have been through. So don't worry, it's going to be fine." patting his shoulder. Fosh knew Jaron was right.
"Yeah...I just want to be sure she's happy......." he smiled even hearing the chaos with Rust running from Sai who was now trying to catch him.
So now, it was official; as Fosh was heading to his room, his face was relaxed. He was happy knowing he had Serena by his side. Even if he even knew the others were happy for him.
For now, the jellyfish and Mouse were now official. Together and happy. Seems this vacation was a lot more better than he thought. Now, he wonders of what the future will bring for them and the others.
