Michael Kieran Harvey who is an internally recognised, classically trained pianist , with interest in contemporary composition, performs with Adam Simmons and his Toy Band, acclaimed for its unique blend of jazz, art and entertainment. Not to mention a rubber chicken or two… In this premiered performance, through the classical form of the 'Concerto', connections are explored between worlds of : solo/ensemble, classical/ jazz, instruments/ toys and the serious and the humorous. The work is also informed by the concept that these contrasts are the opposite ends of the same pole.
