I just heard for the first time the violins (?) in fots when she says "As I said in my letters, now that I know better" and I'm obsessed. Also, there is something about the way she pronounces "lose my baby again" that heals my heart. What do you think she means with "letters"? Is there a specific meaning or does it refer in general to their conversations during the period when they were getting closer before she left Joe?

my interpretation of the letter line is pretty direct tbh i think she's just referring to them getting closer, you sent me downtown lights and all of that.
also, can we talk about the last line?? "but it's gonna be alright, i did my time", the way she kinda delays the vocals, it seems like she's having a sudden realization that she went right into the microwave and she's trying to comfort herself.
