A once-in-a-lifetime shot — the moon perfectly framed by a rainbow. Caught at just the right time. 🌈 🌕
The M on tabby cats’ foreheads stands for ‘MUAH’ because that’s where you’re supposed to kiss them. 💋
PSA: Land Cruiser > Land Rover.

are there any history lovers here?
check out then the youtube chanel "fall of civilizations". the production quality and research done for these episodes is outstanding!! and it's for free! granted, not all episodes are this long like the one about the mongols, but trust me it is worth it. I listened to this episode when it was just in a podcast format (only audio) and I did not get bored.
the way the creator brings back to life these ancient times with poems, songs, testiomonies...it just speaks to my history loving heart.
also it's interesting to see how these great civilzations appeared and then dissapeared and some were even forgotten about for centuries, and for some you can even see a pattern that shows that yes, sometimes history does repeat itself.
But seriously he does SO many good ones. Roman Britain, Easter Island, Vikings, and then a ton in Asia and Africa and South America.
I remember when I was in high school world history (it wasn’t even that long ago) and they told us Easter Island was mystery. Same with Petra. Kumbe, they know SO MUCH now!
My beautiful baby princess girl, Honey Pig. If I could draw, I would make the frontosa cichlid look like a little fairy-fish talking to her. In reality, Piggie was staring at a squirrel.
Sandi Toksvig is a cinnamon-apple-cream-cheese-danish fresh from the oven and I could just eat her up.
Kingsley III is the third Black Spitting Cobra I am attempting to skeletonize. This is him back in December fresh in his 3 liter jar, and him now 5 months later. The rain kept getting in and drowning the maggots, but the dry season is coming so maybe things will speed up. I’m getting impatient.
The first cobra I put in a jar of tequila hoping to preserve him as a wet specimen (works for worms, right?!) but I was young and naïve and turns out wet specimen preservation is way more involved than that and you can’t get formalin here. He bloated and his skin all sloughed off. I tried boiling him after that, but it weakens the bones too much.
Then I buried Kingsley II in lime and dug him up later, but the moisture in body hardened the lime into caliche and I had to basically chisel him out. Chiseling is rough on delicate snake bones.
So, much to my spouse’s horror (and my restless agitation), I am attempting to let Kingsley III decompose naturally in his jar. 🫙
I FINALLY UNDERSTAND THE ‘FLYING BUTTRESS’ NOW! 🤯. Bless you, sir. Bless you.
I was going to make General MacArthur into a merman, but both of his ends are JUST TOO CUTE to adulterate with human anatomy. 🥹🥰💖
You can imagine that Professor Volkarin is narrating and it somehow makes it even better. 💖
