Tw: photos of animal remains, specifically bones and a sheild
Hey friends! My sibling and I found the remains of an a.rmadillo in the woods today and we decided to take them home and clean them up. This is the first time I've gone bone collecting so this is all pretty new to me, tbh. The bones/sheild had been there for at least three months and thankfully were picked clean by the local wildlife so I don't have to attempt to clean it myself in a shared apartment.
It's not the best photo but I want to keep them contained in the sealed bag for a week to make sure no pests had followed me home. As far as I can tell, I have some vertebrae, ribs, a pelvis, a leg bone (possibly humerus), and a shield (possibly the pelvic shield). My plan is to leave them in the bag and after a week, start scrubbing, degreasing, and bleaching. Unfortunately, idk how to preserve the shield quite yet but any advice is appreciated.
