A well-decorated Fountain Square has been the center of Christmas in Cincinnati for decades. Take a look at these newly digitized holiday images from the Library’s collection.
First Image
View looking east on 5th Street. Until its 1971 renovation, Fountain Square was located on an island in the middle of 5th Street. Also pictured here is the long-lost RKO Albee Theatre, which was demolished in 1977. Thanks to the Albee's marquee, this photo can be dated to 1965. 'Never Too Late' with Paul Ford and Connie Stevens was in theaters that year.
