why do cows go in Four's aesthetic tag? I'm assuming Four likes cows. does Four HAVE a cow? does he get to have a cow friend? 👀🐮

In fact, Four does not get a cow, and he has not given cows enough thought to like them, although in theory I think he would. He's a big fan of sustainable living and closeness to nature. But he's a bigger fan of sheep, actually—he's a materials enthusiast (wool, fabric, wood) more than an animal or food enthusiast. No, cows go in Four's tag because to me, he is a cow.

He's smarter than you think he is. He's more loving than you think he is. He's bigger than you think he is. He's an image of stately wealth, sleek and fat and heavy with his weight of education, heavy-boned to carry the weight of his responsibilities. He's branded with a mark. He's a dirty animal, kept separate from humans; he's dangerous, don't get too close to him, he can and will gore you. He's one ubiquitous cow from a herd of ubiquitous cows. He doesn't even have his own name, it's just Thaddeus, they're all Thaddeus. He's raised as a prize animal to display and pamper, but he's still raised disposable. He is a meat animal, bred for his flesh. He lives to serve. He does not know his mother. His eyes are very beautiful and very sad.

For Four: 7, 13, 14, and 25?

What's one way your OC has changed since you first came up with them?

You know this, called-kept, but it was a few months after I came up with Four that I gave him dissociative identity disorder. The core of his character did not change, but it added a lot of complexity to his story!

If you met your OC, would the two of you get along?

I like to think so. I know what Four likes in a companion—willingness to just roll with things without asking too many questions, mostly—and I'm pretty mellow in person. But my cheerfulness might rub him wrong, unfortunately 😅

How does your OC want to be seen by other characters?

Four wants to be seen as... in control. Not necessarily powerful, but he wants to be seen as self-controlled, disciplined, a finely honed unit. Not someone to be pitied or (even worse) a collection of lost little boys in a single body, but a person to be respected.

What is your favorite thing about your OC?

I admire his commitment. He really puts his whole heart and mind and soul into what he does, whether that's survival or learning or his various woodworking and building projects. He's persistent and strong, despite the weariness that tries to drag him down.
