Four's first return from an Octoling mission could have gone better. And despite Marie's prior warnings, the young agent ended up quite hurt. After getting patched up, they share an exchange:
"On that day, Marie could only theorize what Four meant. Did she really not realize the weight of the work she's accepted? Or was she really not bothered at all by taking on this job? Crazy of all, perhaps Four did not feel all that threatened by the octoling soldiers, instead curious about them? Marie wished she could tell."
