This kid. It may have been a weird school year, but Alec sure made some amazing strides for his final year of Elementary School. He’s been in a gifted STEAM Club program since second grade, but this year he was also invited to participate in another one; Author’s Club. Here he is with his book he wrote and illustrated along with his research project on Whale Sharks. He’s grown so much this year... physically of course (growing like a weed!), but academically and socially too. The crazy recess rules forced him to get out of his comfort zone a bit more and actually do some ball sports with his classroom friends that he normally hasn’t done in the past. Now he’s talking about joining flag football and basketball as a result! ❤️ He’s made new friendships, done amazingly well on his schoolwork and tests and accomplished so much with karate. 4.3.21 // Alec is officially one belt away from achieving Black Belt. Today was his first Endurance Day (also, affectionately nick-named Hell Day). He and the other candidates started the morning with a 2-mile run, immediately followed by maxing out on push-ups, sit ups and tricep dips. Then the test began; 2.5 grueling hours of various techniques and endurance work. At the very end, he broke five boards and officially earned his Brown Stripe belt. 🤎🖤 This journey has been nothing less than incredible and it’s not over yet. 3.27.21 // Pinewood Derby! Since this is Alec’s first year in Cub Scouts and next year he will move up to the troop, this was his first and last experience with the Pinewood Derby... and it was a good one! He and Boyd had a lot of fun working together on the car, but we had no idea what to expect. He wound up placing 3rd in his den!
