Fourtie | Headlines | 1994
Back when The Source was a respectable hip-hop magazine, the demo from this emcee from Atlanta blessed its Unsigned Hype column in September of 1993. All the beats in that demo were provided by Plead the 5th Productions, who also got to produce the b-side of Shorty Long’s debut single “Shorty’z Doin’ His Own Thang”. Unfortunately, unlike many other artists who had made it into the Source column like Biggie Smalls, Common Sense, or DMX, Fourtie only blew up on a regional scale. The track “Headlines” was included in a Tuff Break Records collection album to promote its newcomer artists. There were rumors of a forthcoming album titled “Mista Meanor”, but this was never released.
