Master post for my oc Jayce and the fox- part 2

Jayce meets the fox and is... fascinated by him. The fox, similarly, is fascinated by the fact that Jayce doesn't show even an ounce of fear around him. In fact, it sort of... really frustrates him? He's used to people being terrified of him. But no matter what he does, it doesn't scare Jayce. So he starts taking more and more liberties with them to get reactions out of them. He even makes a transactional deal with them to taste their flesh occasionally since they can regenerate (albeit slowly) thanks to the red crown.

This leads to a lot of interesting encounters. Jayce is honestly just naively interested in the fox and what role he has played as a shadow to the gods. But his obsession with getting a reaction out of them turns into something a little... more...? Though he would never admit it. He just sees himself as taking advantage of their naivete.

Eventually... they come back to him like 'hey so i had twins' and he freaks the fuck out lmfao

They're absolute menaces and they make it their life goal to torment the fox. (He would have left to get the milk lmao but Jayce has a preternatural sense for finding out where he is and insists he watches them sometimes as a form of 'child support')

They eventually end up kind of like a bickering divorced couple that trade weekends for the kids

Ok master post for my OC and lore lol. A lot of this art is pretty old now- I'm just putting it all together in one master post.

Jayce is an oc of mine who has a... complicated relationship with the fox. (more art and story under cut)

Jayce (she/they) is a cat that was raised in silk cradle as a sacrifice by heretics (never taught to read or write, but they taught themselves). They rarely, if ever, show emotions, and they've always been fascinated by the macabre— death, decay, and bones. When they were still a child, they were brought to a sacrificial altar to be killed, dagger poised above their chest. That's when the lamb found them.

Jayce took a while, but slowly opened up to the lamb. They are intensely interested in books and taking notes on what they see- they have a very analytical mind and carry a notebook with them everywhere.

The lamb is the closest thing they ever had to family. And because Jayce was considered 'creepy' by the other cult members, they were often alone. This led to an unlikely bond forming between them and the lamb, like that of a parent and child.

Jayce eventually does make one friend, Oleander (an oc of my friend's), who is shy and very attached to them. They care for him, but you wouldn't be able to tell because they don't show their emotions.

Eventually, the lamb gets... tired. They decide to retire peacefully, passing on the red crown to Jayce. Jayce is not bothered by this at all, seeing it as a way to pay back the lamb. But they don't realize the lamb intends to grow old and die naturally, and when they do find out, they're heartbroken and cry for the first time in their life.

Narinder is in this AU too- but he sees himself like a mentor to Jayce. He shows vulnerability around them because he's been tempered by his many years living in the mortal world. He sees them like his niece.

I'll make another follow-up post with her dealings with the fox- but they get really entangled (in a toxic fucked up way), and he becomes a central figure in their life.
