my darling emergence. I want to go over the current timeline and the major (named) stories. Everything here is subject to change and an outline!
1800s. Probably 1860s/1870s - The Founding
HUGE period that needs to be reworked. DOtC has me intimidated
There's a big gap of space between the founding and the next major historical events/notable periods.
1936-1937 - StormClan's Folly
Following a prosperous leadership from Mistletoestar, Bracketstar(Emergence!Stripestar) of ThunderClan takes over. In WindClan, Galestar has also taken the mantle of leader. They merge together to form StormClan and a series of tragedies and sabotages leads to them falling apart.
WindClan and ThunderClan both work to recover and appeal from their sins. ThunderClan throws themselves into their battle work, led by Oakstar, and WindClan doubles down on religion.
Gale Rise gets to live with the Wild Cats. Bracketstar retires and is flung into the Dark Forest by StarClan for merging with WindClan. I can't express enough how unfair StarClan can be.
1949-1951/1952 - False Omens
The Five-Clan war begins. It's a year-long, brutal war. StarClan delivers a message begging the Clans to chill out, telling the five in all of their cryptic glory: Only the Stars can bring peace to the forest. Or, something along those lines.
Turns out, what StarClan means is that the five leaders should sit down and NEGOTIATE. A kit in ShadowClan named Starkit is thrusted into a position of prophesized hero and what StarClan meant only discovered when Starpaw is a couple of months into her training. It was a terrified cover-up from the fact that Starpaw was half-Clan, hence "False Omens". The short story follows the dichotomy of Starpaw and Foxpaw, later Starflood and Foxpelt, and how they both take to discrimination in their Clans.
Starflood leans into traditionalism and Foxpelt leaves SkyClan to lead a better life.
1950-1952 - SkyClan's Exile
In which SkyClan's leader, Duskstar, desperately offers some of SkyClan's land to appease a very battle-hungry Birchstar. Duskstar dies and Cloudstar takes over. He has to deal with pressure from ThunderClan and logging taking up their land. After ThunderClan raids them, SkyClan has to leave their home in search of a new one.
1956-1968 - Branchprowl's Valor, name change pending
I want to change the name and focus more on Birchstar's story as a villain, giving the role of protagonist to one of her grandkits instead. A lot of the story is focusing on how fucked up ThunderClan is and their relations to one another. Even the youngest warriors seem jaded. Everyone sucks, it's interesting to look at. Lavenderbelly watches her brother get kicked out, another victim of Birchstar. Her mateship with Branchprowl is crumbling, who's a heavy Birchstar supporter.
The early year/two years focus on the end of Birchstar's reign, then the rest of the story is the development of cats and healing/Not healing. It would end with Branchprowl dying in battle over Sunningrocks, going to StarClan with their mother. They'd go on trial and avoid being sent to the Dark Forest.
1990s - The Great Journey
Following the destruction of the forest territories, the Clans have to band together to find a new home. The Great Journey marks great change in not just the territories, but also the trajectory of Clan relations.
It's a very unexplored area for Emergence. I'm excited!!
2010-2012 - Emergence
Present-day Emergence. It gives attention the original five main characters and tackles grief. But, I like to flesh out all of my cast. It's a lot of cats to work with, it will take time. Hollypaw(suffix unchosen), Frogstream, Chiastorm, Juncowatcher, and Dogwoodtuft.
The future is fuzzy. I have the drafts for the generation once these guys grow up.
