Foxter is a brand from Bangladesh (from my research) who is famous for its affordable bikes. They mostly have mountain bike models where they are famous for. I bought this bike because it was hitting the top charts for budget road bike reviews which I found true. I've fallen in love with road cycling because of this friend of mine.
The Foxter FT402 is a 7 speed road bike loaded with Shimano Tourney for its drive train. For its price, you already have STI shifters which are good. Never had a problem with shifting with this one though the way of shifting is quite different for its higher models. Drop bars are still not compact so you'll find yourself quite on the dive for it but I found no issues with it. The frame is light and beautiful, many thought it was a premium bike. As a beginner, I really loved the bike. My list for the parts I wang to upgrade for this bike are the following:
Fork - The steel fork really adds to the weight and feel of the bike.
Dropbars - I really want a more compact dropbar for more comfort in being on the drops.
Crankset - The prowheel crankset also adds to the weight. But functionality speaking, no issues on this one.
Drive Train - The 7 speed Shimano Tourney is really good for starting cyclists. But I think it's already understood, the higher the speed, the better performance.
So my final comments for this bike are:
If you only have limited budget, I recommend this bike more.
If you're a beginner or not, this is worth the consideration. It will train you to become stronger.
Tires are really prone to punctures.
I really love this bike and really hesitant to sell it. But I think the upgrades I want will be more costy than buying a new whole bike. The guy who bought was also a beginner, hope this friend of mine, Andrei (I named it. Hahaha), will make him love cycling.
