sanho and seomyeong from samchons blog
Sanho kills another alien species that she likes thinking she’s scared of it but it was something she thought was cute…. And he’s like… tell me… because it’s something you like… I don’t want to make you upset… and she’s like aww… my puppy ❤️

I really like these parallels! seomyeon, who hugs sanho first, and sanho truly feeling alone and gripping the person who ignores his humanity in exchange for comfort despite the lack of forgiveness, wanting words but settling for touch vs the second image where hes started humanizing her and reaching out because he wants her comfort and thinking if he stayed in her arms he could be eternally forgiven, wanting her touch instead of her words because they can not truly understand each other as owner and unwilling pet
I like that the first image has a sickly shadow to it—it really does show how horrendous and mentally worn sanho was from the entire situation meanwhile the second image doesnt have that overlay. still, both images give the impression of sinking with no return
seeing sanho starting to desire her—her praise, her attention and concern, the salvation and the ultimate, unconditional love that comes with being the pet to an alien. he doesn’t even realize he’s being domesticated when he wants to make her happy and not do things she dislikes, and thinks he might cry out of hurt feelings when he things she doesn’t appreciate that he protected her. it’s not out of self preservation anymore—he’s still human enough to be aware that his ‘sins’ are things he needs to live with, but her affection is forgiveness, unadulterated and unwavering, and he wants to be spoiled and coddled by that love. she will never fault him for anything
and in turn he becomes tamed—I wonder if sanho will get jealous for her attention? he’s already protective of her, he’s already humanizing her, wanting to be praised by her, and because of samchons doodles, him adoring her is 100%. after all, this love is addictive, isn’t it?

despite how scared sanho was of her response, she grants him no culpability and her forgiveness and understanding of his humanity serves as a way to, ironically dehumanize him further. he didn’t want to be punished, but he’s being met with love, understanding, and ’caretaking’. sanho at his lowest is finally able to be molded into a pet that can behave—his Stockholm syndrome, her injury, and the fact that she forgave him for killing and killed for him as well is overwhelming. it’s really hammering in that fighting his circumstances and this ‘love’ won’t bring sanho anything but pain when he can’t escape her and there’s nothing good out there when he does leave, because when he acts on his own he ‘ruins’ everything
her way of reaching out the sanho with empathy is really interesting, because despite her saying this, she doesn’t recognize sanho has a person with autonomy at all
