                dark eyes alight, red lips carving a path upwards as arms reach forth to twine about one of her companions. it seems royalty at court has a habit of coming to hostilities---- but mary would like to change that.    she has so few family, so few friends, left. ( in her heart, she would like to change that as well )

                 ‘ i know this MARVELOUS tailor in the village---- we could make a day of it !! order a few new dresses, add some pastries from the bakery and a stroll around the square, and it shall be perfect. ‘

i’m so fuckin bitter about how people like to shit all over snow ‘my life is fucking garbage but i’m still smiling, goddammit’ white like??? No No No does anyone have any idea how hard it is to cope with what she has??? bitches be like it’s unrealistic but fuck you, people can and have gotten over traumatic events because they have to. snow’s doing what she needs to survive and make the best of a situation

also i will bitchslap to kentucky the next person i see saying that cooking/cleaning isn’t actual challenging work. like fuck you, homemaking is difficult as all hell and she’s got to clean up after seven actual guys?? and all while being cordial as shit. yeah, cordial, like a fucking princess, not docile, go home. she’s being nice, not submissive (although you could argue that she has a tendency to be hyper-compliant as a result of the childhood abuse she suffered) and doesn’t put up with needless negativity. plus she can talk to fucking animals, that’s metal as fuck.

                                       she is beautiful. how can this be ? hans thought unfairly , cursing under his breath as he tries not to stare at the princess for too long. his emerald eyes are intense , keeping a levelled gaze focused on his laps and the fingers that are curled atop of it. how can this be , he thinks again , teeth pressing against one another as the one expression of hate climbs but never lashes , and he thinks some more ... of how unfair it is that all of his brothers manage to get even the littlest of attention by father as the old king court them away one after the other ... and yet hans is there , neglected and completely wifeless , while runo’s soon-to-be wife —— who is far more beautiful than runo has bragged her to be —— sat there and looking so , so graceful.

                       ❛    i’m leaving — ,    ❜     was it jealously ? envy ? he is not certain for obviously he feels those all ever since he knew how to name emotions. no , it’s a little bit more than that. he’s just baffled , he supposes. couldn’t bare the idea that such beauty would soon be agreeing to wed with the only ugly sibling among all the thirteen princes.   ❛    but please , do go on with the courting arrangement. i’ll just ... be at the garden ...   ❜    and there he goes , with no one barely looking twice at his descending shadows —— though that’s okay since hans never expected them to.

let us discuss : the ‘ aurora has no personality. ’ debacle

     and by discuss, i mean show you you are wrong. okay yes, she does have only eighteen minutes of screentime, and you do have to focus and analyze even the tiniest of details to find what i found.

         the first time we see her, she is briar rose. a simple, orphaned peasant maid doing chores humming to herself, as she makes her way downstairs she overhears her aunts ‘ how are we going to get her out of the house ‘ and that is when her smile appears. she knows it is her birthday, she is shown to be playful when knowingly putting them on the spot ‘ well. what are you three dears up to ?’ she subtly smiles when they cannot respond,

          then they send her out to pick berries. ‘ but i picked berries yesterday! ‘ plus her facial expressions show us that she is suspicious, yet she plays along because she knows her aunts just want to do something nice for her.

          wondering and hopeful.  i wonder, yes it is technically a song about love, but it is also subtly hopeful. she sings “will my song” rather than “would my song” : she’s not questioning the reciprocal nature of love as something imaginary, but as an actual possibility.

          rebellious. what? sleeping beauty? rebellious? no! yes, you heard me right. she’s not likely to be the leader of a revolution -- but when shown with her animal friends, she narrates to them her wildest dreams ! meeting her prince -- yes, her prince. she is a lonely teenage girl. 

       Why, Aunt Flora and Fauna and Merryweather. They never want me to meet anyone. But you know something? I fooled them. I have met someone! 

            yes, it was only a dream you say but she does want for it to come true, although she knows it’s against the rules her aunts’ have established.

Yes, it’s only in my dreams. but they say if you dream a thing more than once, It’s sure to come true. and I’ve seen him so many times! 

           & this is when her charming, furry prince appears, and she is shown to be playful again, as she sings once upon a dream a romantic song about meeting someone which is against the rules. and dances along. she is shown to be a dreamer, ( no pun intended ) again when she gets so carried away into her fantasies that she does not notice that her animal friends can no longer keep up. she’s not aware that an actual stranger is dancing with her until he sings. 

            briar rose has dreamed of this, a tall and handsome gentleman to find her, and to fall in love with her. she wanted it to come true. yet, she is scared, and shy, and she  tries to run away. .as the stranger persists on his pursue, she gives in and she dances with him --- it’s not the same longing, spirited dance she had been dancing with her friends, pretending it was her dream prince. however, now that her potential dream prince is right infront of her, her dance  is more formal. less intimate. this leads us to believe that briar rose, in her fantasies, is an extrovert when in reality she’s more of an introvert. 

            how she reacts to the news of being a princess is another point scrutinized by the haters, i’d like you to think about how she was raised. by three simple ‘peasant’women, and wondering briar rose probably asked where they came from, where she had come from. i assume her aunts  told her she was an orphan. so not only did she find out her parents are alive, but that they’re the king and queen, which makes her a princess, the only heir. and as such  the life ahead of her and every aspect of it has been planned. depriving her of the freedom of choice. yes, she gets to wear pretty gowns, and live in a castle. but at what cost? no longer would she be able to choose her path, to dance barefoot in the forest. she would’ve still reacted badly if she had not met the stranger in the forest that day. but of course it adds to it. reminder that phillip is the first non!aunt person she ever interacted with, let alone the obvious romantic connection. she has had her fairytale ripped away, ( or so she thinks. ) and that is why she is shown sobbing. still, she accepts her duty, and goes to the castle. 

          about the curse, i’ve seen fans and not fans of aurora argue that she was completely in her right mind when she touched that spindle, because we weren’t told otherwise. but i believe we did, when maleficent’s will-o-wisp appears, aurora is shown to follow. her posture stiff, her expression uncharacteristically blank. as if in a trance, when she is about to touch the spindle her aunts’ echos reach her, and she withdraws her hand. yet as maleficent says ‘touch the spindle, touch it i say!’ she does. and so, she sleeps. claims of willingly doing so are completely ‘???’. aurora was a victim. no matter how long, or  how little she slept. she was put in magical sleep against her will. without her consent. ( p.s. personally, i don’t believe that maleficent, the mistress of all evil would just let her peacefully sleep. but with merryweather’s intervention who knows what she dreamed of. ) and then, she wakes up. to find that her betrothed, prince phillip is the stranger she met at the forest. and she is happy. she is also shown happy to meet her parents, who she thought were dead. and so she lived happily ever after. 

           or did she? i  like to believe she did. but of course, being a princess takes training. and even a “peasant maid” as graceful as briar rose would need extensive hours of lessons, whether it is etiquette or history. she is to take the reigns of her kingdom, along with king hubert’s alongside phillip. i do think she would sorely miss being one with the woods, the freedom of it, and the peace. i believe that it takes her a little time at first to realize that when they say “aurora” they are talking to her. it is like a stranger’s name. i believe when you get close to her, close enough to be considered a friend -- she’d ask you to call her rose. because that is the name she grew up with.

          and well, that is all i have for you today. hopefully, you’ll thinnk about it. and if you wanna hmu about my tiny child briar rose, go ahead.
