WAITTTT IM SORRY I ONLY JUST SAW THIS HI YOU ASKED THE RIGHT PERSON. i have been wanting to compile resources on Good Yuri for a while now. heres a small sample / beginner's guide to some good yuri :)) theres way more i could mention but i think these are a good gateway!
most yuri anime are slice of life high school anime, but i tried my best to give some variety among them. manga is a lot less afraid to step out of that formula though, you may find more of what you're looking for there!
• Asagao to Kase San / Kase San & Morning Glories •
a very very cute 30min ova about a shy gardener girl and her sporty girlfriend as they go through their senior year of high school! one of my all time favorites. this adaptation is only a small portion of the "Kase San and..." manga series, so if you like this definitely check out the manga! theres also a recent spinoff series called "Kase San And Yamada" which follows the girls through college!

• Bloom Into You / Yagate Kimi Ni Naru •
arguably one of the most influential yuri of recent years, and rightfully so! this is a lovely and emotional story about a hopeless romantic who believed that love wasn't possible for her, until she meets a girl in high school who unexpectedly confesses her love to her.

• Revue Starlight •
my personal favorite anime EVER!! while this one is a bit more than just a yuri romance, it still deserves a reccomendation imo. this one follows a prestigious theatre school with 9 prodigies who participate in an underground swordfighting ring in which the prize is the lead role on "the stage of destiny". a clumsy girl who is determined to perform alongside her childhood best friend throws herself into this battle royale to prove that they're soulmates destined to perform together. the show follows the girls trying to climb the ranks, and looks into the messy relationships between all 9 girls who resolve their feelings through swordfighting to emotional musical numbers.

another ova! this one isnt Great but i found it interesting. its about a girl who has the ability to freeze time for a few minutes at a time. she gets caught looking up a girls skirt while time is frozen and finds out that she is the only person immune to her power. the two then pursue a questionably healthy relationship lol

• Asteroid in Love / Koisuru Asteroid •
an adorable hobby anime about a girl who falls in love with a boy* she briefly met while stargazing as a child. she vows to find an asteroid and name it after him. years later they reunite thanks to the earth and space science club, and it turns out she was in love with a girl all along! the two continue to search for the promised asteroid! not really as explicit of a romance as the other shows listed but its very cute :)

Manga
im not a huge manga person but i do have a couple that i really enjoyed, with more im planning on reading!
• Run Away With Me, Girl! •
10 years after seperating at graduation, former high school sweethearts reunite. maki realizes her feelings remain, but midori is soon to be married to an abusive man. ultimately they decide to run away together! this is a josei manga and it gets fairly heavy at times, but its also very sweet and does have a happy ending. this one healed my heart after one too many class s and yuribait.
• The Guy She Was Interested In Wasnt A Guy At All •
literally what it says on the can! aya falls for the cute mysterious guy working at the local record shop, but it turns out it was actually her high school classmate mitsuki. the two bond over their taste in music and learn to navigate their relationship. super cute slice of life, and its still ongoing!
• How Do We Relationship? •
a lighthearted slice of life about the only two openly gay girls in their university. the two are polar opposites, but decide to go out with each other to see what happens. as the story goes on they realize their relationship of convenience becomes more genuine.
other manga that i havent read yet but have heard good things about!
• She Loves to Cook, She Loves to Eat (slice of life, adult characters)
• Whisper Me a Love Song (slice of life, high school setting)
• Doughnuts Under a Crescent Moon (slice of life, adult characters)
• Love Bullet (sci-fi / action , high school age)
• Otherside Picnic (sci-fi / paranormal, college age)
• Goodbye, My Rose Garden (drama in victorian era, adult characters)
thats all i have for now! i have way more to reccomend, and im always reading and watching more, but i think this makes a good yuri sampler to the unacquainted! :) thank you for reading and i hope you enjoy !! ♡ ♡ ♡
HERE I GO AGAIN, AND I STILL GOT LIKE 16 MORE SHOWS LMAO
Once again, I'm ranking some yuri i watched! This Selection for the majority is really good! and im exicted to watch what i have left!
(ONCE AGAIN, SPOILERS FOR ALOT OF YURI SHOWS)
(no rae taylor in this tierlist guys sorgy... i hope u can find it your heart to forgive poor ol me....)
11. Revue Starlight + The Movie
yeah people arent gonna agree with me on this one will they.
I didn't get this show. I watched the whole thing. I watched the new scenes in Rondo Rondo Rondo. I watched the movie. I didn't get it. I can absolutely tell how ambitious this is though! The music was great, the animation, and I can tell what they were telling was a really good story and I understand that, but i have a brain the size of a cheezit and I didn't understand what was going on, so I couldn't fully enjoy it. The Plot of Karen finding a secret elevator in her theatre school, and finding a underground stage performance tournament her other classmates are performing in, all to become the One and only Starlight, with the Giraffe Ringleader watching over all of this. Though I can totally see why its one of the most popular ones out there, but for me personally, it just didn't click. But, I do definitely recommend it, unlike other shows I've ranked last, maybe you'll get something out of it I didn't!
5/10
10. Kuttsukiboshi
I knew some things before going into this one. mainly that it got pretty weird. and HOLYYYY shit did it get weird. this is the most down bad show I watched for this list (still doesn't beat you, gushing over magical girls). then there's that one scene, at the end of episode one, and the one around the middle of episode 2. ew. just ew all around. But for some reason... I still like this double episode special? I don't know. I should hate it, yet I don't. overall, it was sweet. Kawakami having mind powers was strange though and overall i'm unsure how I feel about Saiton. the ending was also very weird (the very very end, what was leading up to it was pretty good) Overall, its.... ok and maybe(?) worth a watch if you can handle some weird stuff (look into it at your own risk i'm not explaining it). I'm only ranking it above Revue because It made me feel actual emotion unlike revue where I was just bewildered most of the time.
5/10
9. Assault Lily Bouquet
this one was pretty decent! this honestly felt like a better Strawberry Panic mixed with fighting robots and that's pretty awesome. But like Strawberry Panic, it didn't fully grab me. I did really like what they did with Yuri, and I was genuinely sad when she died. But besides that, nothing really left an impact on me aside from the cool robot designs. The way Kaede went from being annoyed at Riri for getting in the way of her and Yuyu only to then right after the first battle become obsessed with Riri, was very strange and I didn't really like her all that much. Overall, its pretty decent, but I don't plan to watch it again.

8. Koisuru Asteroid/Asteroid In Love
y'know for being named "Asteroid in Love" there was a shocking amount of Yuri absence here. That's not a bad thing in this shows case, but I was kinda hoping for a bit more. I like the dynamic between Mira and Ao. Honestly thought Ao was transfem at first so Im headcanoning she is cause its awesome and you cant stop me. But I really like the concept of this show! Two girls, just wanting to discover an Asteroid, and even though they dont in the end, it doesn't matter, as they still are determined to one day do it! and its pretty good cause of this, I recommend giving this one a watch!
7/10
7. Vapor Trail
Now This one I'm ranking differently then the rest, as this one isnt an official anime or OVA. its a free 30 minute short film, for free on youtube, so its on quite a small budget made by one guy. But what they are able to do on this budget is insane. The Story they tell is so fucking good like, Yashima and Liza, promising to be with eachother forever, but Liza being forcibly drafted to fight the invading robot aliens, and Years later Yashima joins the army to find out she died in combat, and now her only way to talk to her is through this specific robot suit that an AI of her is attached to, is just like amazing?? and that ending, with both of them moving on together, Yashima sacrificing herself for the greater good is so fucking good it got me tearing up. But Besides the story, the rest of it is just, alright for me, the Music, SFX, and Animation is just alright, but its understandable with what the budget its on. But I totally recommend giving this one a watch, its only around 35 Minutes, so Its so worth a watch!
7/10
6. The Executioner And Her Way Of Life
MAN this one was good. The concept alone hooked me. Otherworlders, getting Isekai'd into this world, and these Special Priestess having to kill them before their special powers get out of control, but Menou being unable to kill Akari, due to her time powers, so having to travel with her as she remains oblivious to Menou's true objective, OOOH ITS SUCH A COOL CONCEPT. and they do NOT skip out of it either. the idea that Akari has lived through this whole journey multiple times, each slightly different, and all she wants is to die from Menou Specifically. I really do hope a season 2 gets made, though it is unlikely sadly. I Totally recommend giving this one at least one watch if interested, It has such an interesting story!
7/10
5. Bocchi the Rock!
yeah yeah, this one technically isnt yuri but uhhhhh its my list I do what I want. I actually watched this one quite awhile ago, back a few months ago with a few friends, but I decided "hey, why not toss it on the list". This show is pretty damn funny, and All the characters are really enjoyable! The style of this show is really fun, and Bocchi is a great protag I relate to quite alot! I also really like the ship between Bocchi and Kita, and the music in this show slaps too! I honestly dont have much else to talk about regarding this one, you should just go watch it! I cant wait for season 2!
8/10
4. Whispered Words
I didn't have high expectations when going into this one, as I knew nothing actually gets confirmed in the anime and it gets wrapped up in the manga (which I plan to read tonight), but I honestly really enjoyed it! The way they show Sumika's love for Kazama was done really well, and they way they slowly show over the course of the show that Kazama eventually develops the same feelings for her was really sweet to see! I honestly cant wait to read the manga and see where it heads, but Honestly I would recommend watching it, but it is a bit of a slow burn, if that isnt really your thing.
7/10
3. A Ninja and an Assassin Under One Roof
this one was really good! the concept alone got me interested, and Im glad i checked it out, it was insane, but in a good way. All the characters in this were great, aside from Marin's sister she was pretty weird. Marin Herself was amazing, and I loved Roboko, every time i look at them I get Silvagunner Joke Explainer vibes from em. and Obviously, the main two Sakoto and Konoha have great chemistry and they are awesome together! I cant wait for season 2, and you guys should def check out this show if you get the chance!
8/10
2. Fragtime
this one was so freaking sweet just aajhhjjhaaahjdjha. The Relationship between Misuzu and Haruka was so sweet, and Misuzu time stopping powers was a fun concept, the concept itself is pretty cool to see in yuri, and I'd like to see it again one day. I love the story of Misuzu helping Haruka overcome her Internal struggles and Insecurities of how other percieve her, and how throughout the story, Haruka feels she can only be herself when the time is stopped, and shes around Misuzu. its such a freaking sweet OVA, I recommend this one so much. Its such a heartwarming Love story, and I don't wanna spoil it all too much.
9/10
1. Vampire In The Garden
this one sent me through a fucking rollercoaster of emotions, holy shit. I'll start off with the characters. Momo and Fine have such a great gay romance friendship throughout this, that you legit can so easily get attached to them the moment they meet. And the Story, OH THE STORY. AMAZING. I CRIED LIKE 4 TIMES IN THE SPAN OF THE 5 EPISODES. This show is so good for only being 5 episodes, it has no right being this amazing. The final episode, where Fine takes the Drug to turn her into a monster so Momo can get Away, only for Momo being able to turn her back, but only for then have her die in her arms, like oh my god the show didnt have to hurt me like that oh my doomed yuri..... god this one, is just so good for me. Please watch it if you can, cant recommend it enough.
anyways uhhh thats the end of number 3. HOPEFULLY number 4 will be the last ranking, but knowing me I'll find a way to add more... but anyways see you all for Yuri Rankings then!
