Raising Turkeys Our Aunt Helen raised turkeys in Frazier Park, California. My brother and I spent several Spring Breaks with her. She had two German Shepards, Toby and Bo. That’s Toby in the photo. Every morning she’d wash the dogs faces and kiss them on the lips. My brother and I came into her home greeted by the fragrance of fresh roasted turkey. “Great! When do we eat.?” “Oh, turkey isn’t fit for us to eat. The turkey is for the dogs! You guys are getting hotdogs.” Disappointed. We ate a lot of hotdogs at Aunt Helen’s.
