Lambert's pregnancy being dub-con... Holy shit yes! Lambert not knowing who's the father but being responsible for himself and Dima and no one is going to get in his way of taking good care of his kid who did nothing wrong ever in his life. Meanwhile Rodrigue knows who's Dima's father, has the memories of how Lambert's body felt (and lbh, he probably went and protected Lambert from all other assilants that night) and he can't act on it at all. Mmm this gives me some delicious ideas. They probably went to the party together because college... End of the semester and Rodrigue’s wife is taking care of Glenn so he can go out and have some fun and de-stress. He loses track of Lambert for awhile, but finds him very messy drunk a few hours later being led up to one of the frat dude’s rooms by what appears to be a rather sober guy.

Now pretty drunk himself Rodrigue doesn’t even think before he heads up to the guy’s room and decks him for trying to take advantage of a seriously fucked up person. After that Lambert is aaaaaaall over him. He’s basically collapsed against his chest and purring and calling Rodrigue “my hero”. Rodrigue is kind of like... “Alright you’re pretty far gone I should get you home.”

At least, that’s what he’d planned to say before Lambert grabbed him by the hair and started sloppily kissing him. Lambert leads him down the hall to one of the empty bedrooms and what can I say? Rodrigue is weak. He knows this is pretty fucked up, but fuck he’s been in love with his best friend for how long now? So in spite of the crippling guilt he lets Lambert have his way with him and he just prays he can forget about it... Except he can’t, because two months later Lambert calls him to tell him all about how he’s pregnant, and does he have any idea who the father could be? Did he see which guy he slept with that night?

Rodrigue bites his tongue, pretty terrified that Lambert will hate him for this drunken mistake and terrified that his own pregnant wife will learn about the cheating and leave him. His biggest regret in life is not fessing up about that while Lambert was still alive.

Okay so in your newest AO3 fic you said that Dimitri was the result of Lambert and Rodrigue's affair. Did Lambert ever tell anyone who the father was? Was there judgement from the nobility? What was Lambert's reaction when he found out he was pregnant?

Ah, it has been awhile since I’ve discussed the DILFs, hasn’t it? Though I swear to god I’m getting massive déjà vu, didn’t someone ask me almost this exact question the last time I posted a fic that mentioned Lambert/Rodrigue? I’ll have to go back and check.

Basically Anon, most people don’t know. Lambert and Rodrigue are both married men by this point, and while most people will turn a blind eye to them having sex during a heat. I think, on some level, it is expected in Faerghus that a retainer would help their lord with that if necessary, Lambert and Rodrigue just kind of take it too far. However, illicit love children are supposed to be 100% off the table.

Lambert would have to tell his queen-consort because it’s rather obvious that the baby doesn’t belong to them (they haven’t had sex in years), but they’re the only one that knows.

The rest of the nobility suspect. It’s not exactly a secret that Rodrigue and Lambert are a little closer than lord and retainer ought to be, but they can’t prove anything while Lambert is pregnant. Rodrigue stays away almost entirely (explained by his own wife also being pregnant during this time). Then when Dimitri is born there is no need to tell anyone that he’s an illicit love child, because he got the Blaiddyd crest and he looks exactly like Lambert so no one would ever be able to tell that he belongs to Rodrigue, too. Had they been told then there probably would have been serious judgement.

As for his reaction... At first he’s excited, then he’s terrified and a little wistful. There’s always sort of that feeling of what could have been when he thinks about starting a family with Rodrigue, but also the pressing reality that, should this baby show any indications of being a Fraldarius, both of their reputations would be in the trash.
