The Pin-Up Girl Summer Collection Launch
I know it's late, but the last few weeks has been a roller coaster ride for me so I wasn't able to blog properly about this wonderful event I attended last February 25, 2011. The Pin-up Girl launched its summer collection "Cupcakes and Sodas" at the Society Lounge in Makati.
The Frills and Spills Top on me
"The Cupcakes and Sodas Collection features summery frocks and sweet feminine pieces inspired by vintage pieces with a quirky and modern twist. It captures the modern "Pinup Girl" - a girl that people look up to and aspire to be. The main theme revolves around summer picnics and trips to the beach, as seen in the sheer pieces and sexy sportswear, as well as the full skirts and breezy dresses included in this 12 look collection."
I wore this Flowy polka dot top in crepe de chine fabric. It features 'angel wings' sleeves, black piping for contrast, shirring on back & front, and fabric covered buttons.
"In keeping up with the modern 'Pinup Girl' image, the collection provokes the image of girls who care not only for their appearance and well being, but acts responsibly for the environment as well. Materials used in this collection are vintage deadstock fabric, fresh linen and upcycled fabric. It also goes against the fast fashion trend, introducing silhouettes and pieces any girl can incorporate in their wardrobe and can be considered classics. The collection features 12 looks, 6 for daywear and 6 for evening wear. All pieces resonate Retro Americana with a twist of French New Wave made for the modern Filipina."
It was fun finally meeting, shaking hands, chatting and laughing with co-Tumblr bloggers Kisty and Jeline.
Us three with the designer Andie Bordallo
The mood that night was very light, the girls (Kisty + Andie) were so Becky (gay) while Jeline is still a bit reserved, but all of them were definitely a charmer. We keep on conversing all throughout the night whenever we can, though most of the time we cannot hear each other because of the music playing in the background.
I like the elements in this photo, looks like the light came from the screen.
