My lifetime has overlapped with at least one spectacular act of Quebec public violence every five years or so. No other province can claim the same.
This whole hypocritical opinion. ITT : An idiot who has never set foot in the province of Québec and who has learned everything about it from the media and the Internet thinks he knows enough to put the province of Québec on trial, conveniently ignores facts that don’t fit his narrative and uses a mass shooting to justify his hypocritical xenophobia toward the Québécois. But he and the rest of Canada isn’t xenophobic of course. “The mosque shooting has been quickly politicized by the Canadian left who have seized upon its useful victims to say the sort of things they were going to say anyway: Canada is both a wicked Islamophobic place that must check its various privileges and a multicultural utopia whose pride and empathy for its Muslim community knows no bounds. Rather than drag the entire country along for this tendentious ride, it might be more useful to narrow the focus.“ ... So painting Canada with a broad brush isn’t okay, but painting Québec with a broad brush is just fine. And politicizing it is wrong when you disagree with it but it’s fine when you do it. Read the comments to find out many more ways in which this opinion piece is pure bullshit. Bonus : "Attention Quebec journalists: if you are going to write columns denouncing me, please write in English. I cannot understand French.“ https://twitter.com/JJ_McCullough/status/827335523744129024
