AL PACINO in SERPICO 1973, dir. Sidney Lumet
April 25, 1940 – Happy 86th birthday to the greatest actor of all time, Alfredo James Pacino. ❤️
SERPICO (1973) dir. Sidney Lumet AL PACINO as Detective Frank Serpico
Maybe swipe Paco and Michael but wth
Pacino characters as Polish shops(/shops in Poland) + reasons. PART 1
THIS IS SO STUPID FOR A SECOND POST HERE
John Milton: Lewiatan (eng. Leviathan)
My reasoning:
The name. Just... the name.
The cashiers there are usually really evil
Francis Lionel Debulchi: Groszek (eng. little pea)
My reasoning:
The mascot and him are both cute
The name. He's my little pea...
Very local, very nice, fit for accomodating vagabonds
I found a lamp in front of it once.
Michael Corleone: Biedronka (eng. ladybug)
My reasoning:
Creepy.
They advertise themselves as a Polish brand but in fact they're Portugese (shady business, anyone?)
They send you messages through their app in the middle of the night (giving you offers you cannot refuse like 5+2 milk)
Beef with every shop around - my guess is that they're trying go legal (like Michael in Part III) but the other shops are PULLING THEM BACK IN
Actually TURNED evil -- it used to be a cute, little shop... and then it killed Fredo or Moe Greene or the CEO idk
Frank Serpico: Stokrotka (eng. daisy)
My reasoning:
The flower aesthetic
The only time a family member shopped they saw an employee chasing some kid who stole something.
Reliable, the ads aren't that annoying and it's actually pretty niche (the fresh produce is AWESOME)
Frank Slade: KZRSS "Społem" (National Audit Union of Consumer Cooperatives "Społem")
My reasoning:
TRUSTY. Frank knows what he wants and he knows where he can find it (the shelves haven't changed since 1989)
This shop is for those who always say: "Za komuny było lepiej" (loose translation: Even during communism we had it better!) He'd say that.
The employees there are literally the target audience of Frank's flirtations (70 year old Polish men sound exactly the same as he does)
He shopped in it as a young man, and he swore to shop in it always (also, he really likes condensed milk which is also very easy to open by oneself)
You. Should. See. The. Alcohol. There. (he only drinks patriotic alcohols from Poland, you understand)
RANDOM IDEA!!!
AL PACINO MOVIE CHARACTERS AND THE CHINESE FOOD (authentic or takeout style) I THINK THEY WOULD EAT!!!
based purely off vibes! i'm probably not gonna capture every character, if i don't, you can leave a suggestion or your own hc :3
michael corleone: steamed fish and rice! idk why, he seems like a fish dude. i think he'd have the precision to pick out the tiny fish bones (trust. i've been choking on the bones since i was eight). one of thsoe pricey authentic places. i really simple meal seeminly, but teh fish is very flavorful.
tony montana: i personally believe he'd eat anything on the menu actually. i look at this man and i think about orange chicken. please tell me you see it. it's a very distinct flavor, loud and punchy like him i think. he's the type to order a shit ton of it too! i think he'd also like char siu bao. type to sit at a dim sum restaurant for business for at least four hours
sonny wortzik: i love this guy. i think he'd order dumplings on take out and shovel that shit down the hatch. he seems like such a messy eater to me lol. like.. he'd dunk it in that DELECTABLE soy sauce mix (iykyk) and pace while eating. does not seem like the guy to sit down.
lt. col. frank slade: hot and sour soup. take it or leave it. maybe kung pao chicken as well. i think he likes bold and spicy. he'd finish the whole dish of it fairly quick. to me, he's the eat to enjoy kind of man, even if he eats faster. pearsonally, i think he'd also enjoy guang tang bao (soup dumplings)
vincent hanna: ANOTHER STANDING WHILE EATING DUDE!!! i think he'd fuck with a carton of chow mein with beef and broccoli. slightly cold from delivery, but very satisfying. he'd also talk while he's eating. the type to eat to fill, not enjoy. seems like a mapo tofu guy too,
john milton: he's literally the devil from the bible (hard ball ref throw). i think he'd get peking duck from an authentic place. the devil will not order takeout i'm sure. i just think it's funny to watch this guy eat a whole duck. sue me.
serpico: i KNOWWWWW he's the type to order from an authetic hole in the wall chinese place that he gatekeeps with his LIFEEEE. he'd order biang biang noodles (best dish ever imo), probably drain it in more chilli oil. he seems like a slurper to me imo.
francis lionel delbuchi : i had to think about it for a long time because i just watched the movie BUUUTTTT!!!! wonton soup! a very non complex dish that is really warm and safe (honestly after that movie i just want him to eat well and full :((). the wontons are perfectly chewy and flavorful, the soup is not too oily but well flavored.
