Honey, you are a monster
(Frank Castle X Monster Reader)
Their routine Friday night date was the only time the two would seem like clocks following a closely made schedule, dinner at Frannie's from seven to eight, a walk through the park from eight till nine thirty, ice cream cones (or bowls if you were Frank) at ten thirty eight from Icee Mommas and walk back home via the local lake they liked to walk past and smell the scent of wet and moss before arriving home with ten minutes to spare before love island would air at eleven and they could comfort themselves in their warm couch and throws that had been collected via too many trips to the thrift stores.
All the waiters and chefs knew this routine at this point too, expecting the routine Burger, fries to share and pasta fettucini with chicken parm to turn on their order wheel they gave it ten minutes before looking out the order window to look at their regular table a small sign written ‘reserved’ laid on its side Frank sat looking like a kicked dog as he looked out the window every time he heard a noise looking for her to enter. As they watched him get up and throw down a tenner to cover the full and half drunk drinks he exited and followed the familiar path they knew she often walked to enter from her job exchanging looks they worried if their favourite couple had officially called it quits and they'd missed the last dinner they'd get to watch.
Her jaw was wide open like a snake you could see rows of teeth rivalling a shark or snakes sharp, pointed and covered in blood pieces of skin hanging from a couple as her soulless black eyes looked towards her next victim to prey on running as fast as he could her deer like legs were too strong for him to outrun and a scream tore through him as his arm was grabbed and pulled so suddenly and strongly that is had dislodged before ripping away from his body completely.
Hair covered in blood and gore she used the momentum as she pulled back the man and threw his free arm behind her to flick it away from her and rehinged her jaw to taunt the man as he pleaded for his life.
“What’s the problem baby, smile for me?” in a dead monotone voice devoid of soul she smiled as delivering his words back to him she pushed him down to tower over him and give herself time to savour his fear.
Suddenly sensing a presence she turned to find Frank standing over the prey's friend or the pile of what was his friend before he mumbled “You missed date night”.
Turning back to her prey she grabbed his leg as he tried to use his only arm to crawl away and quickly used her giant clawed hand to separate his head from his body digging deep into the ground as she cut through his skin silencing him before returning to Frank as she saw the small pout on his face.
“I am so sorry, these guys started rattling me and following and then I saw we were here," she gestured to the protected trees surrounding them, a shortcut she often used to get to Frankies after work “and he tried grabbing me so I… I just” she trailed off as Frank approached picking off some gunk that was staining her shoulder and grabbed her arms wiping away any blood and dirt still stuck to her bones protruding and concave skin between them filled with blood as Frank cleaned them out silently forgiving her, never able to stay mad long enough.
“You know Frannie’s does take out now? How about we go home and we can rewatch the newest love island before the next episode?” She smiled a big smile before hugging him as tight as she could, her frame overtowering him in a warm and spindly embrace, figuring a group shower could be added to their new date night.
“I am really sorry” She whispered, still feeling the heavy guilt low and heavy in her stomach walking beside Frank, her frame still towering over him slowly returning to her true height.
“Honey I could never be mad at you just let me know when you’re busy so I’m not scared you’ve left me”
Cuddling up tight in the warm hoodie the fresh smell distinctly homey to her with a mix of Frank (she’d spritzed it with some of his cologne before dressing) She waited impatiently for Frank to return with dinner and listened as his keys jingled with the lock.
Slowly clicking to the rewatch page as Frank de-shoed and set their dinner on the coffee table he spoke softly.
“Sarah was worried you left me” he told the tale of how the regular Frannies waitress was happy to hear they were still together and how she’d ‘been kept back by work’ even adding in a heart shaped brownie with help from the cook David reminding him how lucky she was to have him.
“Well she’s right about that” She smiled, grabbing Frank as he sat to comfortably pull him against her chest and covering him in kisses.
“No baby cause if you ever left me I’d never recover” he turned to connect their lips before grabbing the remote to restart the episode and enjoy their newest date night.
Ok so this was inspired by a post by the wonderful @hellskitchenswhore I hope i did the idea justice
