There was this section of Homicide: Life on the Street fandom that was ADAMANTLY against Frank/Tim and their actual reason for this was:

Frank often says in the show that the homicide detectives "speak for those who can no longer speak for themselves".

Therefore we, as fic writers, "speak for those who speak for those who can no longer speak for themselves".

Therefore by making the Frank/Tim partnership tawdry by slashing them, we were disrespecting the dead.

For some reason, this logic did not apply to slashing Tim/Mike. I don't even have to spell it out 🤪
