I have received some pretty great emails and texts the past couple of days. Doctor Who quotations and acknowledgment of my efforts to keep laughing even when this year has started out pretty rough are super nice things to have in writing.

as someone with a chemical tendency toward depression and a personality tendency toward cheerfulness, sometimes it takes work to keep my balance, and I do work at it, because nothing is so motivating as the memory of experiencing clinical depression. so, it is really nice to hear confirmation that yep, things have kind of sucked, but you have noticed that I’m still smiling. some things have been good, and a large part of what has been good is you guys!

Haha welcome to my life. Have you ever considered signing Cody up for BJJ classes?

actually, Cody has asked to be in martial arts for ages, I just don't know enough to know what would be good, or whether there are any places in the area that make sense, and I also don't know how I would fit taking him to classes into my schedule or budget, but it's something I've been thinking about, since he has continued to bring it up instead of forgetting about it. if you want to give me tips on where to start researching places/classes/etc, I would definitely appreciate that!
