Sending a lonesome soul, straight back into the devil’s soothing arms over a decade later for them to find their way together.

Matt smiled. “I have something for you.”

“Yeah? Got something myself.”

Matt tilted his head towards Frank as he pulled out their drinks. “You first.”

“Kolinski’s giving the keynote address at some dinner in a couple of weeks. Might be a good time to get to him.”

Matt tried to gauge the likelihood of a coincidence. “It wouldn’t happen to be the Columbia Law School Distinguished Alumni Dinner on the thirtieth?”

OR

Matt gets invited to a fancy dinner one of Daredevil's targets also happens to be attending. It goes just about how you'd expect.

Frank, as always, despite wearing a cross necklace and wearing a priest’s uniform, probably just killed someone because the wall on his side is splattered with blood. His face and the cross necklace are also tainted with splatters of blood, but he looks unbothered, gaze focused only on Matt whose knuckles he’s kissing very reassuringly. Matt, on the other hand, looks worried, almost panicky. End of ID.

Just a tiny thing for @frattweek day one! Angst/very thinly veiled allusion to something 🤔

"I don't know why I come here anymore."

"For forgiveness? Acceptance? To atone for your wrongs?" Father Murdock suggests.

Frank scoffs, shaking his head. "Nah. See, I'm done with all of that bullshit. No amount of prayin' is gonna make what I've done go away, and you of all people should know that."

Matt shifts on the hard bench seat. "Mm. Doesn't mean you shouldn't keep trying though."

Frank laughs softly. "Cos that's what you do? Finish beating some fuckhead bloody then run down to your church and your saviour and ask him to look the other way? God you're somethin'. I ain't anywhere near as close to god as you and even I know that my shit stinks."

Matt sighs. "We do what needs to be done, to protect others. I know it's not good work but it's for the good of those who can't protect themselves. That's how I reconcile it," he looks up at the cross through the laced window. "Even though it's difficult to at times."

Frank nods, on the surface seemingly satisfied with Matt's answer.

"And uh, what about that other thing that we do? Can you reconcile that in the eyes of your god?"

Matt lets his head fall back against the wall of the confessional. Strobing flashes of his own hypocrisy reeling through his memory and taunting him.

"This is not how this goes, Frank."

"Alright, so it's all on me now huh? Well then… let me keep tryin'." Frank scoots forward until he's as close as he can be to the thin wall that separates them.

"Forgive me, father, for I have sinned…"

OH OH! It’s THURSDAY of Fratt Week - which means Today’s Theme is Skull - and it’s the only thing I managed to finish!!

(I had an idea for cross but it needed photo refs i did NOT have to get the body perspective right.)

I think this is the first thing I’ve drawn for Frank (and if you look closely there’s a little nod to Matt too. Or at least, it was meant to be, but it might not come across that way)

Pen and Ink and Marker, imported to Manga Studio to be cleaned up and colored and the original bullet holes were replaced by me digitally drawing them all over again (And i might have gone overboard on? What do you think?)
