Pod-together is a fandom fest where writers and podficcers create together—the writer creating text specifically intended for audio, and the podficcer creating the audio. Sign-ups come in two flavors. If you would like the mods to match you with someone with similar fandom interests, sign up for Matchmaker Sign-Ups. If you would like to sign up with a partner, we also have Group Sign-Ups.
Writing is due July 26th, and podfic is due August 23rd. The minimum length for pod-together projects is 1000 words or 10 minutes of audio.
This is our 16th year running this challenge, and participants usually have a ton of fun and create amazing stuff, with everything from the typical style of fannish stories to submissions with filk, poetry, found footage/audio drama, sound effects, massive multi-voice collaborations, full-cast musicals, immersive soundscapes, playable games, and multiple languages.

Summary: Needing silence, Frank wants to pay his respect to his fallen brothers and sisters for Memorial Day later than most. Yes, absolutely! This event is open to any and all fandoms, genres, and artistic traditions.
Can I create for [specific ship]?
You may! As long as the work for each prompt fill engages with the prompt, there is no guidance for or against any ship.
Can I make a work that has [specific content]?
There are no rules against any content, only the requirement that the prompts be filled. We ask that you tag and label appropriately when sharing your work, but we believe in a culture of don't like, don't read here. No restrictions of any kind will be applied to the contents of your art.
Can I make NSFW content?
Buddy, one of the prompts is literally "sex pollen."
What if I'm not comfortable making or engaging with NSFW content?
There are sufficient alternative prompts in order to allow you to complete the challenge without creating works with sexual themes or content. In regards to engaging with sexual content made by other participants in this challenge, we encourage you to read all tags and content warnings of any work before engaging, both in this challenge and outside of it.

2 - How Can I Make Content?
Can I use AI to help me write or create visual art?
Under no circumstances is the use of generative AI permitted in the completion of this challenge. We say generative AI specifically to permit the use of programs that may otherwise be classified as AI that are assistive, like spellcheck and image clipping tools.
Can I re-post a work I made before this event?
While you can do that in general, if you wish, you can not do so for it to count as a fill of a prompt. All works made for this challenge must be new for this challenge.
Can I combine prompts into one work?
Yes, you may!
Can I use prompts multiple days?
Yes, but they will only count as being filled once. If you want to complete the challenge, you must use 31 of our prompts, not 30 with a repeat.
Can I participate even if I don't complete the challenge?
Of course! Whether you manage one or all thirty one prompts, your works still count for participation and should be shared, both in the event Ao3 collection and by tagging the blog on Tumblr!
3 - So About Posting…
Where do I post my work?
You may post your fills where ever you normally share your work, be that Ao3, Tumblr, or another social media or publishing platform.
When do I post my work?
Ideally, you would post the fill for each day on the day it is for (ex. post your coffee shop AU on May 1st). However, as long as the fills are posted in the month of May, they count.
What tags to I use?
On Ao3 you must tag your work appropriately as per the archive's tag policies. There is no official Ao3 tag for this challenge, but there is a collection.
When sharing on Tumblr or other social media sites, we ask that you tag your fills with #retrowrimay and/or #retrowrimay26.

Summary: Expectedly, from being in a casual relationship with Marci, Foggy eventually succumbs to Hanahaki Disease. He knew it would happen and it sucks, but he isn’t aromantic like she is. Leaving him thinking he has little choice, other than to accept an endless fate of vines wrapping around his heart. Repetitive surgery when it develops, may be his only chance to survive.

Has anyone else read Psalm for the Wild-Built though? 👀 It's a short novella I highly recommend! Sci-fi, dystopian and very thought provoking. You might like this better if you dare, after reading that. All you really need to know here is Matt is a Tea Monk 🤭😅 crazy am I right?
