"I believe you have gotten far too comfortable around me, Hana."
Her eyes followed him from her spot in the center of his room. She stood stock-still, awaiting her judgement from judge, jury, and executioner. And that was exactly what Sasori was. She was his subordinate and he held her whole life in her hands.
"Do you know what it takes to get to the top?"
His gaze raised and she immediately lowered her eyes. She was avoiding his stare, and he supposed he couldn’t blame her.
He could crush her in a second.
"Blood, murder, pain, and destruction, Hana." He stepped up to her, "Do you have what it takes to reach where I am?" She kept silent and he gripped her throat and hissed at her, "I asked you a question."
She shook her head slowly and he released her. “Then why did you disobey me?”
Her mouth snapped closed and she avoided his burning gaze. “I’m sorry, Sasori-sama.”
Sasori stepped back and studied her for a moment before circling her slowly. He stopped when he stood behind her and despite the fact that he now stood in her blind spot, she didn’t even turn her head.
As though she trusted him.
His movements were smooth and calculated as he shifted onto his left foot and lashed out with his right. His boot connected with her lumbar and she toppled forward with a surprised cry, catching herself just in time.
Despite the fact that she could feel any of it, he kicked her hands out from beneath her and brought his foot down between her shoulder blades.
The crack of wood was satisfying.
She was pinned and he leaned his weight onto that leg, keeping her down. “Are you doing to do it again?”
"What will happen if you do?"
"Correct." He stepped off of her, "Get out of my sight before I change my mind."
