❝ HAVE YOU? ❞ BROW FURROWING INTO TIGHT RIDGES, WHITE stocking-covered legs crossed as the new nurse leaned back into her chair. That precluded wearing the new rayon dress; the beads could catch awfully on something and a crush might tear it. But her brief reconsidering of her plans for the night faded away as her gaze lifted to the man across from her. Hesitating, she played with a french fry, pushing it across her plate.
❝ Will you be alright? ❞ Concern spilled over into the soft question. While she’d seen Steve quite a bit in the last few weeks, she’d offered to take him to lunch for a reason. With all the hubbub of her graduation and the ensuing pell-mell start at the hospital, she hadn’t been able to catch up. With the pressure of such a question, she attempted to avoid it, but ever since they met through Bucky, Connie never could let go of her concern. Now, as a nurse, that only worsened. ❝ Not that I think you shouldn’t go, ❞ hastily, her words tripped over themselves, hoping to not give offense, ❝ But I hope you’ve thought about it. ❞
Gaze drifting off to the diner’s windows, looking out onto the frenetic energy of the borough, her lips spread into a bright but nervous smile, shaking her head at herself. Steve was an adult. As much as he did still need worrying over, that was a bit too far. ❝ I think I now owe you a dance for that. ❞
@frccdomfell liked this !
HE SITS, fingers picking at each other in anxiety, legs hanging off the crumbled wall of the abandoned church steve had found that has sort of become their spot.
❝ i know i’ve been kind of--- off lately. i’m sorry. it’s nothing you’re doing, i swear. ❞

Oh yeah raphael is still sad af. I imagine Ragnor close to tears on some nights with his finger hovering over the call button before he chucks the phone aside and lets one tear fall. YOU’RE WELCOME
oh wow you made it even worse! thanks!!

But now we know Ragnor isn’t dead, so he’s just not texting back lol. But he’s probably still getting them and reading them and shaking his head.
I mean yeah, but Raphael doesn’t know he’s still alive (right? i’m not caught up with the new books) so for him it’s still really sad :(

She knew she shouldn’t be seeing him; and that this all started for her to find a sort of reason to get him FIRED and yet here she was. She slipped into his car after making sure she wasn’t followed out of her friend’s apartment where she’d told everyone she would be staying that night, her eyes looking up to meet his as she CAUGHT her breath before leaning in to press a kiss to his cheek. “Just so you know, I’m missing GIRLS NIGHT for this,” she frowned at him a little, TEASING. “You better make tonight worth it.”
