The gym is chaotic, screams and tears being overwhelmingly loud. No one could quite explain what Carrie had done, no one could explain how she did it. Most people couldn’t even decide if it was her that had done it. But of course it was her. Tina may be branded a dumb-ass, but she’s smart enough to know revenge when she sees it. She just doesn’t quite get how Carrie’s doing it. A flick of the hand, a nod of the head, and the world just does as she wants. It’s terrifying.
The doors are all closed, swung shut the moment Carrie had realized it was a prank. Chris and Billy had been taken out quickly, Tina’s laughter quickly stopping as she watched Carrie White kill her friends. Panic is strong throughout the room, no one’s paying attention to their surroundings. It’s all just screaming and running in circles. Tina spots a ventilation shaft and thinks maybe - just maybe - if she’s quick enough and quiet enough she can get it open and get out of there. She dashes towards it, but she’s not paying attention and soon enough she collides with someone and the pair end up on the ground.
Of course it’s Tommy Ross, looking just as fearful as everyone else. She knows he’s innocent in this, knows he had no idea about the prank. She just wonders if he’s managed to figure out that she was in on it. She hopes for the best and decides to act innocent; it’s not as if she’d actually really done anything, she only switched the ballots. “Tommy, we gotta get out of here.” They don’t know each other well, only really knowing each other through Sue. She’s using that to her advantage, hoping he doesn’t realize that she’s enough of a sheep to just do whatever Chris wants. “There’s a vent, think we can squeeze into it?”
