racetrack higgins had a total of two moods; extremely happy, and extremely angry. when he sold all of his papers, he was extremely happy. this night in particular was a good night.

If you have an interview with a decent job or a college no one will take you seriously.” She rolled her eyes, leaning back in her chair. “First off, you’re not my brother. Second, did you call me a bum to try and get me interested in whatever the hell you’re planning?”

“Says the kid who talks like a kindergarten dropout,” she refuted, arching a brow. She sighed again, this time in resignation. She marked the page in her textbook before sliding it into her bag. “You have an hour. Then I need to get back to work. Maybe if I’m feeling nice I’ll let you help me. What do you want?”

“nothing wrong with talkin’ like that. half the others do too, you heard albert talk?” race looked over her shoulder, watching addy put the book away. he was glad to get her attention. “i got to thinkin’, ‘gee, addy’s a real bum, i should make her something fun,’ cause y’know, im a real good big brother.”

despite the pressure on his shoulder, crutchie manages a smile. race was the newsie who could bring a smile to anyone’s face, and crutchie fell victim to that a lot. tightening his grip on the crutch, he rolls his eyes, looking at race. “c’mon race, i don’t need the limp to sell papes, it takes poisinality.”

Karaoke bars were a personal favorite of his. Lucas would often come with him and together they would just enjoy how much fun it was just get out there and whatever song they wanted to. He loved the show, but sometimes he just wanted to sing something new, and this gave him that chance.

Taking a sip of the drink in his hand, Winn set his elbows on the table as he watched Lucas own the stage once again. He had a natural talent and he was honestly more than happy to share the stage with someone like him. He turned his attention back to the other occupants of the bar, smiling as another came to sit at his table. Leaning back in his chair, Winn let them fully sit before he greeted them, “Hey.”

so maybe he was breaking the rules with a cigar hanging in his mouth, but it never left him. race of course, didn’t care. he strolled in, winking at the occasional girl, before finding where the others were sitting.

even though he wouldn’t admit it, he loved karaoke nights. he’d get as drunk as he wanted, embarrassing himself more than usual, but having a total blast while doing it. eyes lighting up when he sees the familiar face, race can’t help but grin as he sits down, leaning back in his chair and putting his feet on the table. “what’d i miss, fellas?”

“You haven’t been doing this long, have ya?” The smaller boy questioned, looking up at the other. Davey had been the only one to question why someone so young was doing this. Eddie shrugged and, instead of answering the question, asked a different question: “Why’s it matter what I should be doing?”
