Been really enjoying reading your talks about P4 and Souyo meta! While there is some stuff I like about Golden, there's definitely mischaracterization there that hits Yosuke in particular pretty hard. Makes me wish there was a way to play the original on modern consoles just so I can compare and contrast.

I suppose you can emulate it? But that's just as annoying.

I feel like Atlus leans too hard on Yosuke (and Ryuji... and the other guys by extension) as "the comic relief without a chance" and end up exceeding the pressure limit- like, so dead set on a gag or a trope that they legit forget the story around these characters and it not just breaks, but shatters their characterization.

I feel It's a writing issue because they're not writing it as a character thing, they're writing it as a funny... and they do it in a way that they're nudging you the whole way going "riight? riiiiight??" and that's infuriating.

Yosuke being slapped by Yukiko for being misunderstood is funny. The scooter scenes are character assassination.

tldr anime is wrong sometimes.
