-charlie and meeks are that couple that everyone expects to fight all the time but they’re actually Too In Love-there’s a lot of exasperated eye rolling on meeks’s part but he means none of it -they do show their love in very different ways though because charlie is SO vocal about how much he cares about meeks no matter what the situation-like he does this for the rest of the boys too but the difference is it’s softer when he’s talking about meeks -also will go on for hours about how great his boyfriend is to anybody who will listen-real life version of the “i love-” “we get it you love meeks” meme -meeks is more private about verbalizing like he really only does it when they’re alone together but he does a lot for charlie outside of just telling him he loves him -he organizes a lot of charlie’s life and makes sure he does the things he needs to do, especially schoolwork-charlie is eternally grateful and tells him so; meeks rolls his eyes and says it’s nothing (it’s not nothing the thanks mean the world)-they’re both surprisingly physically affectionate- if they’re not full on sprawled on a couch together there’s a hand on a hip or fingers locked together-pitts and neil like to make fun of them for it but that has yet to stop them-there’s a lot of “study sessions” that turn into just straight making out because charlie gets fed up and refuses to study -“charlie we have a test tomo-” “FUCK latin steven it’s a dead language ANYWAYS” -(a lot of books get thrown across the room)-charlie is also the patron saint of bad pickup lines-“why study when you’ve got our chemistry down so well ;)))))”-“shut up dalton you hitting on me won’t help me graduate”-hardware store trips where charlie helps meeks find radio parts -idiots in love

-OK so meeks’s parents are one of the most normal out of all of the dead poets -his dad’s an electrical engineering professor at yale and his mom works in the admissions department -short of being crazy set on meeks getting the best possible education and doing something well-paying with that education they were never super pushy about what he did-it was half coincidence and half proximity influence that he fell in love with science first -languages came next when he started learning latin to boost his science abilities-his drive to do well in school is a product of being class genius for most of his academic life and then suddenly hitting a wall in high school -the whole “my standards are high because that was the norm for years but now it’s a lot harder to meet that standards and i’m Stressed”-hyper-organized with school stuff (think color coded notes and perfectly lined up pencils) but that doesn’t always carry over into his life outside of that-during finals week especially his room will be a mess and he’ll have worn the same outfit for three days but his notebooks and review guides are alphabetized first by subject then by content -my boy steven also stress bakes- the kitchen ladies at welton know him because when he was twelve he showed up begging them to let him use the ovens because he had a test and he couldn’t focus if he didn’t decompress somehow-the next day there were about 6 pies and dozens of muffins sitting on the counters with a thank you note scrawled on a blank recipe card -(the boys that day didn’t know why there was pie for breakfast but they all agreed it tasted fantastic)-(meeks had unbridled access to the kitchens after that)-he has four identical pairs of glasses because he’s liable to fall asleep in bed reading and then break the glasses during the night

neil: puck (really only when talking about auditions and acting things, ex: “break a leg, puck”), sweetheart (only todd), ‘actual golden god neil perry’, 'wind beneath my fucking wings’, 'shakespeare’s vision brought to life’ (all charlie i mean who else)todd: THAT anderson (overused to the point of being ridiculous, especially when todd does something good- he won a little poetry contest once and it turned into a full on fan club frenzy of “todd anderson? that anderson? THE todd anderson?”)charlie: charles, dalton, charlie boy (only when knox makes fun of him), 'you idiot’ (only when meeks gets Very Fed Up), baby, honey (meeks again)knox: knoxious. there is no better nickname than knoxious. also charlie has a running list of melodramatic shakespeare characters he calls him by- romeo, hamlet, etc. meeks: meeksie, steven (when someone- charlie- can’t get his attention fast enough), babe/baby/'light of my life, ginger-haired beacon of my soul’ (charlie almost too often)pitts: pittsie, but he really isn’t a fan of nicknames. most likely to call everyone by their first names and want to be called by his.
