This is the first of Freddy MacKay's solely-authored books that I've read, although I've read his two books authored together with Angel Martinez (the #Lijun series - which I highly recommend) and I loved them. I've also read other books set in the #IMPUniverse, including A Message from the Home Office, which gives you a very brief introduction to Captain Spencer, so I was excited to get to read his story. I thought The Nut Job was very well-written. There's plenty of exciting moments and funny ones (the #nut innuendos tickled my dark little soul), as well as endearing ones. I was a little caught off-guard by the alien terminology (although you can figure out a close approximation). But the burgeoning relationship between Spencer and Raijin was a lovely one and I enjoyed seeing Raijin find himself again, thanks to Spencer and the littles.
