Given that a person could change their last name in Regency UK to that of their wardens as long as it was not made to avoid debt or prosecution, or commit fraud, then that means Posy Li could change her last name to Bridgerton once Violet made a petition to the Crown.

Also, this means Philoise and Franchaela could have children through wardenship that are recognized as Cranes and Stirlings. Oliver and Amanda would happily welcome their siblings who would share a story of legal care with their siblings; similar but with its key differences but always a family; and Franchaela could still take in their children from another Stirling cousin that has or does not have the Stirling last name.

I don’t doubt that Eloise and Phillip considered actively raising Penny and Georgiana to be hoydenish termagants just to avoid such an outcome.

Though I think Eloise and Phillip wouldn’t dislike the events of the season as much since they have each other to hang out with, it’s really the matchmaking that scares them.

I think Phillip would have no difficulty looking suitors in the eye so long as he’s giving them a death glare, with Oliver 3 feet behind him doing the same (Amanda’s having too much fun out on the horse farm with Charles to bother with the season)

Frederick would probably be hanging out with his cousins John, Richard, and George and getting into a whole separate set of shenanigans.

Meanwhile I’m sure Penny has a checklist for potential suitors that she has no qualms with filling out in front of their faces, meanwhile Georgiana is regretting that she got talked into doing this by Penny and wishes she did what Amanda did lol 😂
