land day
on march 30 1976, Israel expropriated thousands of dunams* of Palestinian land for settlement purposes, resulting in a general strike and several marches in Palestinian towns, on that day, six unarmed Palestinians were killed, about one hundred were wounded, and hundreds of others arrested, only because they were defending their beloved country.
It pains me deeply to see the commemoration of that day pass with no mention anywhere, nothing on social media, even tumblr, with all its human rights supporters, even my school has arranged nothing in memorial, to support our fellow Arab brothers and sisters.
today, as of march 30 2018, Israel had deployed 100 snipers to Gaza border, scared of raging Palestinians, by 2 p.m, already 7 innocent Palestinians were killed, and god knows how many more will follow, but that was left unmentioned by almost everybody, is it because the number isn’t that much? are we just waiting for them to be hundreds before we speak up?
all I’m asking for is to not let Palestine be forgotten, to not let Palestinians be forgotten, to not let Ahed Tamimi be forgotten like many before her and to not let the land day, along with the rest of Palestinian history, be forgotten.

Release Ahed Tamimi and put Netanyahu in her cell. Justice and efficiency in one blow.
And maaaaan is the Israeli press pissed off that Ahed Tamimi has that blonde, curly hair. They are being driven nuts by that. “She must not be Palestinian! She must not be from that family!” even though she looks a dead ringer for her mother. Israelis have fetishized blonde women for some time (again, read Andrea Dworkin’s writing about pornography and racism in Israel), and here this Palestinian Arab girl with light eyes and light skin and blonde hair shows up and they just don’t know what to do with themselves.
You should never underestimate the role sexism and colorism plays on a daily basis in this conflict. Women and girls are on the front lines, and we all know, a woman or girl who doesn’t know her place needs to be taught a lesson-- but does she have to be blonde???
