Obama said Islam has always been a part of the fabric of the United States.
He’s right, but not the way he meant.
After our founding, as early as 1785, Islam was busy attacking our merchant ships in international waters.
They not only robbed and pirated our merchant ships, they took our American citizens and sailors hostage, and then demanded money from our newly formed government (from our taxpayers) in order to release the hostages they had taken.
The activity was so severe, the cost to get out people back, took up 16% of our annual government budget.
Pirating, stealing and enslaving our people. That was Islam in the 1700s and continues to this day.
President Thomas Jefferson sent a diplomat to the Muslims, and asked what the hell they were doing, and Islam responded: It is our right, it’s our Quran, every non Muslim needs to be killed until they submit to Islam.
We tried diplomacy to no avail. We had to send our newly minted and nascent navy to destroy these Islamic marauders 250 years ago.
