Legalism: The Heavy Burden We Don’t Need Who Would Jesus Really Welcome?
When people are surprised by “good” people doing bad things (Bible characters like David or pastors), it shows what they believe: that Christianity is about how you should live your life so that God will bless you and take you to heaven. But Christianity is that God continually and persistently works with and gives His grace to people who don’t deserve it, seek it, or even appreciate it once they get it. It’s that the best people cannot overcome their sin, flaws, and self-centeredness; but if they cling to the grace of God until the end of their lives they will triumph.
