“Ummmm...” They scooched a little closer to the other gem,    twiddling their fingers together to ease some of the tension    between them. Or the tension that Ruby perceived was    between them, anyway. They never were very good at    telling what others were thinking or how they were feeling.    “Can you do that water bubble thing again? That was kind of fun...”

      Steven sat next to the blue gem. He silently tugged at his pants then scratched his cheek before he smiled and chuckled.

    “Hey Lapis! Wanna hear a joke?” 

     He asked in hopes to maybe get Lapis to smile a bit.
