First I've made the "heros" of as merfolks, and now it's the turn of the villans! So here you have Peppers, Lord Hater and Lord dominator.

If you like them I'll turn them into a finished illustration. (I've already made the one of Wander, I'll share it soon)

My contract as a french teacher finished and the school I was working for told me they don't need more french teachers currently, so I'm planning to go offer my CV to enterprises. Entreprises generally don't hire me, or reject me as soon as they realize I suffer of social anxiety They say "being social and outgoing is an important requirement for any job" & to make it worse I'm an introverted please wish me luck🙏

I feel sad cos this means I probably will not have time for drawing today though. So I'd like to share this in compensation!

O.T.T.O. concept for an unreleased indie video game (2022)

It really does bring me so much joy to see people enjoying my art on here, I only wish that translated to commission and print sales. I'm $300 short of being able to pay rent and my phone bill and all it would take is 1 - 2 commissions to cover me.

I have applied to 150+ jobs in the last week and a half and only had interviews scheduled for 2. I have followed up on close to a fourth of my applications to no avail. It's disheartening and bleak to say the least.

To be a creative in today's world means attempting to bring a spark of joy to the darkness that's swallowing us. But that's simply not sustainable while the cost of living continues to climb, while more and more people continue to be disenfranchised, and while corporations continue to replace us with AI.

I will continue to create regardless, but it will likely be less and less unless something changes.

はじめまして！イラストレーターのDHUKUSHI(デュクシ)です / ブログを始めました！

はじめまして。

イラストレーターとして活動しているDHUKUSHI(デュクシ)と申します。この度、自身のイラストや活動を発信するためにブログを開設しました。X(Twitter)も日々仕様が変わる状況で、原点に戻ってホームはブログじゃと。

まだまだ日々修行中ですが、とにかく絵で社会に貢献したいの一心です。

ざっくりとした経歴は、大学修了後とあるPBWの会社でイラスト関連のお仕事をしていました。その後、出版社のイラスト部門に所属し８年ほど勤め、2026年1月から独立しました。

これまでは、学術系イラスト、図解・インフォグラフィック、テクニカルイラストレーション、児童向け書籍の挿絵などを主に描いてきました。

専門的なイラストは監修もきびしく、修正もたくさんあります。たびたび話題にもなっていますし修正を美徳とするのもキケンですが、見る人に伝わるイラストを描けたとき、感想をいただいたときはとてもやりがいを感じる分野です。

今後は今までの経験を活かしつつ、キャラクターイラストやゲームイラストのようなイラスト制作にも積極的に関わっていきたいと考えています！

独立にむけてPC買おう！と思ったら世界的メモリ不足の壁。それでもなんとか大幅値上げ前に滑り込みでゲットできました。ケースのかっこよさと値下げをしていたのでmouseのDAIV。情弱でもいいのです。かっこいいから。

がっつり描く系のイラストではPhotoshop、クリスタ、SAI２を使って描いています。

illustratorも使えます。シンプルイラスト、アイコン、ロゴ、グラフ作成や簡易３Dではイラレを使います。

blenderも勉強中です。元職場ではCinema４Dを使っていたので、チャッピーに「blenderではどうやるの？」と聞く日々…

左手デバイスとかタブレットもいろいろ試したのですが、結局ワコムの液タブとHHKBとLogicoolのマウスに落ち着きました。

日中はずっとAMラジオを聴いてます。ニッポン放送です。テレフォン人生相談ではガチャ切り祭りに参加します。いろんな人生があるね。

清水ミチコさん、春風亭一之輔さん、中川家、サンドの番組が特にお気に入り。ひっそりラジオパークとかにも参加している…。

映画や観劇も好きだけど感想を求められるのが苦手なのであまり公言してない。場面を絵としてしか観てないのかも…。推し俳優は望海風斗さん。

モーターサイクルなどもたしなんでおります。カワサキW650キャブ車。乗ってるうちにビンテージバイクに片タイヤ突っ込んでいる。大事に乗りたいです。モーターサイクルショーのポスターを密かに狙っている(大大大風呂敷)

そのような感じで、思いの向くまま書き散らしてきましたが、このブログでは、完成したイラストはもちろん、ラフや制作過程、新たな分野に飛び込む試行錯誤も楽しんでいただけたら嬉しいです。
