About Us

Hello there, I thought it might be helpful to give you some insight into who I am and how I think before we dive into the crux of this article.

About Me

I'm a freelancer from Ukraine specializing in mobile application development and Telegram chatbots, with occasional forays into website development. However, due to the ongoing conflict in our country, I often find myself accepting projects unrelated to my core competencies, simply out of financial necessity.

Why did I choose freelance work? I despise the monotony of a nine-to-five and the idle wait for payday. I have an insatiable appetite for learning, traveling, reading, observing people, and unravelling their stories. I especially love to take on tasks that initially seem impossible. Once achieved, the sense of accomplishment is deeply gratifying, an experience that a traditional job rarely offers.

Discovering Freelancing and Its Main Hurdle

Before plunging headfirst into the freelance world, I decided to seek advice from a young woman who had transitioned from freelancing to successfully launching her own business.

You might argue, "That's all about connections. Not everyone can chat with such a person or have such acquaintances." Truth be told, I didn't have such connections either. I found a Telegram business chat through a search and posed as a journalism student assigned to conduct an interview. This ruse finally allowed me to ask her my questions. Fortunately, my ex-girlfriend was a journalism student, so I knew the basics.

The main point she brought up was that many freelancers enter the field expecting quick, substantial income and then give up due to the fierce competition and the extensive time spent on finding projects rather than working on them.

My Solution

My solution to this problem was advertising. I planned to promote my services via theme-based public pages and online platforms. However, I wanted to reduce the advertising costs. That's when it struck me: I could advertise not only my services but also those of my friends and acquaintances who are freelancers. In return, I would get a commission from them. This way, I could generate passive income and reinvest it back into the business.
