What is the stupidest thing you've done to protect your brothers?

cosmo exhaled a long breath, both brows raised as he leaned back in his chair. an easier question might have been what hadn't he done. of course, at the time, nothing he had ever done to protect his brothers had ever felt stupid to him — it was only with time and the ability to reflect that he realized the truth. the invincibility of youth or just cosmo's own almost total lack of self-preservation or just the paranoia and the distrust he felt towards almost everyone at any given time which made him believe whole heartedly that he was the only one that could ever protect them properly.

    ❝ almost killing gerard, breaking into genma, assaulting assassins, hacking the calavera's offshore bank accounts, getting into a fist fight with a bunch of fey . . . to be honest most of the things i've done to protect my brothers has been stupid, ❞  cosmo shrugged nonchalantly,  ❝ i'd do it all again though. ❞

          the dog found him first. the red kelpie had barked and rushed at him only to retreat and repeat until cosmo had finally followed but it wasn’t until he heard the commotion in the distance that cosmo realized that the dog had likely been searching for help. there were voices carried by the wind, cries or screams cosmo couldn’t tell but he needed little coaxing after that. cosmo sprinted forward, following the dogs red coat until the pair of them burst out of the woods and right into the commotion.

a group of survivors had stumbled into a nest, mutated fire ants as big as large horses were snapping at them but there was one face that cosmo saw that made his heart all but flip into his throat.    “    joel  .  .  !  DUCK !    ”    cosmo had to trust that joel would listen to him, he raised his handcrafted spear and hurled it forward with all of his strength. the sharpened point buried itself into the head of the ant closest to joel and cosmo rushed forward.  //  @freezesup  ♡‘d  for  a  starter
