A major ice storm is hitting Montreal tonight. This isn't snow; it's rain that freezes instantly upon contact with the ground and trees. The weight of this ice is immense—you can see the branches bending dangerously and every structure becoming encased in a thick crystal armor.

​Widespread power outages are affecting the city, but we are lucky to still have power for now. I’m staying warm inside, with my fingers crossed, hoping the rain stops soon so everyone can find some peace of mind again. ​⚠️🪾💧🧊🪾❄️🧊🥶🏠☕️🕯🤞🙏

Ugly Hump Day

Last night was a stormy night. The thunderstorm started right after I crawled into bed and lasted for three hours. Since then the temperature has dropped here to just below freezing and it has started to rain again. 🌧️

This was shot 30 minutes after sunrise. I walked out to the road to see if things were getting icy. Things are not icy yet.

I feel very tired because of lack of sleep last night. I al surprised there is not a lot of flooding in the farm fields from last night. It rained very hard here.

So far, this looks like it’s gonna be a TV watching day.
