I enjoy sitting outside and drawing while I ride to Manhattan to go skateboarding. Lately I’ve been working with “nets”; grids with centers cut out, removing information to activate extraneous information at the edges, thinking about how things are connected. I made these drawings with a ballpoint pen on a little french fold booklet I kept in my pocket. I wanted to print it in two colors that would combine to make both ballpoint pen blue/black and basketball brown. I also looked for colors that would be high-contrast when the registration on my old rickety press got out of wack (which is why the edition is so small.) I punched a hole in the corner of the booklet so that you could pin it up without being worried about damaging it.
