I'm going to a "black tie optional" wedding in October. Some people are wearing long dresses and some short but I'm kind of at a loss at how to dress. My style would be closest to Lydia's. Any chance you could direct me to some styling options including currently available pieces appropriate for the occasion? Thanks so much!
Hi darling! I made a few sets, some with longer dresses, some a bit more casual. I’d say that if you’re unsure about how fancy to go, I’d say bring a few things that can dress you down, like a cardigan or a loose blazer. If you’re specifically interested in a long dress, instead of wearing a super sophisticated gown, wear a maxi dress instead, which can be seen as both formal and pleasantly casual depending on how it’s styled :)

Hi sweetheart! I think Allison is a great inspiration for rain boots as I could easily see her in Hunter boots or knee high rain boots like these from Barneys (if you’re looking for a cheapter option, Zooshoo has great lookalikes).
For snow boots, anything fur or shealing lined is a good option for staying warm. Shoes like this, this, or this are very Lydia, but they do have a heel, so if you’d rather have flat shoes, I think these boots, these boots, and these boots are great Allison inspired options :)

Ughh… My head is killing me right now. I hold onto myforehead to make sure it doesn’t burst from this terrible hangover. Last night… Wait, what happened last night. I rise from bed and someone shuffles with the sheets. Well apparently I hooked up with someone because they’re in asleep next to me. I don’t remember being bisexual, but this isn’t the first time this happened. I should probably stop drinking this much…
I yawn before getting out of bed and walk into the bathroom. I reach for the handles for the faucet and they’re not there… Wait… Shit. This isn’t my bathroom and this isn’t my house. I really should stop drinking this much.
I check my pockets to make sure I have everything and leave the bedroom, but not before I get one look at the girl… and the guy. Maybe I’ll see them again and I don’t want to forget that we met; too bad I don’t their names. Good enough and I start walking down the hall. As I walk down the hallway, I look into the open rooms and see everyone else had just as good of a time. Nice. I fall over, not because I’m not coordinated, but because some asshole is asleep in the hallway. Really? Eh, I can’t get too mad, we’ve all been there before. Right?
The guy is still fast asleep as I get up and continue my exit. I keep looking and nothing is ringing a bell. Wait… I think… never mind, that was a different party. That happened last night… Right, I was jumping from party to party yesterday. How many were there again? I lost track after the third one. Fuck. I just remembered I left my car at the second party, my friend Xander was having. From what I remember that was a good one. I won a few games of beer pong, made out with a few chicks, and… a guy. Are you trying to tell me something, drunk me?
Whatever, right now I need to worry about getting my car and getting home. Wait, duh, I’m so stupid I can just use my phone to get someone from Uber to pick me up. Let me just… Shit, I got a text from my manager last night reminding me I have work today. That’s fine… I have work at noon and it’s only… 10:25 and I am 100 miles away from my car… Which is 30 miles away from my job. Fuck. Uh… it’s fine, it’s fine. I haven’t been late in a few weeks. I’ll probably get chewed out by Thomas, but what’s new.
You know what, I’ll just call a cab and go straight to work. Cut out all the bullshit and just focus on getting through the day. Let me just call… and… come on pick up. “Yes, hey I need a ride. Where am I? I’m…” Shit, where was I again? “Sorry, let me call you back.” Okay, let’s see… and let’s do this one more time… “Hi, yeah I need a ride. I’m at 67589 Holland Street. Did you get that? Hello? Helllllo?” Well that’s just my luck, my phone died. I really need to stop drinking this much.
Okay, I just need a find a charger and everything will be mediocre. Just need to be quick about it… Come on, come on. Yes! Great, I just need to- “Oh hey, is that your phone charger? Yeah, do you mind if I just use it real quick. Look just help me out… Did I like harm you in a past life or something for you to hold this much resentment against me? No, great thanks.” Well this day is off to great start.
Wait, someone is leaving and… it’s the guy I was in bed with. Well… drunkards can’t be choosers. “Hey man, you remember me from last night? You do, that’s great. We did that… cool. You wouldn’t happen to have a car would you? You do? That’s awesome. Me? Well if you’re asking, yeah I could use a ride after last night. You’re serious?
