I love magazines, especially fashion magazines. And there are a few that I think everybody should read who is interested in fashion. Just keep in mind that everybody has his own taste. If those magazines aren't for you, there are plenty more out there.
VOGUE, also known as the Fashion Bible.
VOGUE can be a somewhat intimidating magazine. The first time I bought it as a teenager, I really didn't understand all the big fuzz about it. However, I do now. Don't read VOGUE and think that you have to dress up like this. Those spreads are very artsy, and that's okay. VOGUE is not a magazine like others that tells you how you should dress, or what fits you most, and where you can get the best deal. VOGUE should be an inspiration to you. You open up the pages and there you have hundreds of pages for you to dream in. That's at least what I do.
The articles are great, too. As I said, I strongly recommend it for anyone who's candidly interested in fashion.
Oh, W. I love this magazine. Since I have moved to the States and have been introduced to it by my favorite girl, I read it all the time. The photographs are amazing. And I love running around with my W magazine tucked under my arm, or reading it in a coffee shop. It's so big and eccentric and screams "Look at me!" Yes, I love eccentric, by the way. Definitely a must-have!
Founded by Andy Warhol. Fantastic magazine. I can't get enough of it. Obviously very artsy, and quite out there. The features and interviews are great. I love reading them. Too bad there are only 10 issues and not 12 issues a year.
I found this British magazine once while browsing through the magazine isle. This magazine is, as I said British, and therefore a little more nudist, than American magazines. It comes out twice a year and is therefore big and heavy at the same time. Something you definitely want to read at home. Or look at. There's nothing much else to say, than: check it out! I'm in love with it.
Now, I know that Real Simple isn't a fashion magazine, but... it still is a fantastic magazine. I love all the tips in there. You can find everything. From how to iron certain clothes (thank you so much, Real Simple!) - it was about all these ruffle shirts... saved my life - to recipes, gift ideas, interviews, housekeeping... I mean there's everything in there. I recommend it especially to those who don't live with their parents anymore.
Anyways, enjoy reading these! At least, I will.
To be a fashionable woman is to know yourself, know what you represent, and know what works for you. To be "in fashion" could be a disaster on 90 percent of women. You are not a page out of VOGUE.
