A Second Encounter

Time had passed, as it is wont to do, since last Aulë had visited Frerin.  The night they'd spent at the edge of the wild seemed so recent, and even so Aulë knew it had been a substantial amount of time as mortals count it.  And so, for this reason, he did not expect to be recognized when he strode into the smithy where Frerin had taken up temporarily.
